Sensitive Head?

Is anyone else's head so sensitive that it hurts to touch it?   This is new to me, it being this sensitive.  It hurts to brush my hair or touch any part of the areas where I feel pain during an attack.

Feels like it's really bruised.

Yep - by the peak of my cycle, just combing my (very short) hairs hurts.  Sometimes, I actually can feel swelling over my temple.

Actually, when that feeling goes away, I know I'm on the down side of my cycle.

Hugs and wishes for good days ahead,

Nope, if it hurt to brush my hair I would shave it.

It is up to YOU to educate yourself and then help your doctor plan your treatment. If you just sit down in front of your doctor and say "make me better" you are setting yourself up for a great deal of pain.

I get this too.  Sometimes, I have to wash my hair in the tub because it hurts to have the shower run on my head.

Hey Melissa. Oh positively. But with me not only is my head very sensitive, I cannot blink my left eye too hard. I have always had the sensitive head through my many cycles. A doctor explained it as almost like how you feel when you have the flu. The nerves in your scalp have a virus -like syndrome. Nothing to worry about though, just a by-product of these damn , ridiculous, painful bastards.I guess we get a free pass into Heaven, as hell is having these headches !

Dittos here, but also the back of my head, just above the neck hurts also(on the same side as my attacks-- left)  Sometimes before an attack, this part of my head tightens up, like a tension headach.  Anyone else have this?

Good morning Gobster---yes---my left side-back of neck tightens badly. Sometimes I grab it and massage it , but 9 out of 10 times it does nothing. Basically, when I am in a cycle I could walk in the Macy's Parade on my hands and it would do nothing. The combination of prednisone and verapamil has helped me on this present cycle. The amazing thing is that NOBODY in my family has ever experienced these----------just me. And I pary that my children NEVER get them. When they tell me that they have a headache I jump, but to date nothing near a cluster...THANK GOD !!!

The whole upper side of my head feels bruised and beaten. especially my temple area. Now a whole day without too much pain and it feels moreso.

Now that you made me press on it, it hurts more. Oouch!

Leave it to Mel to start a thread on Sensitive Head...

Even tho I'm a guy, I'm sensitive also. The bag of ice/peas applied to the scalp is to LAFF. Not on your life. Every single hair follicle is it's own foray into a hectare of excruciating pain.

Sensitive Head; a double edged sword.

Yea Mell if I didn't know better, that hair don't have nerves... it sure feels like it does and Oi!... that bruised feeling of the scalp always leaves me wondering if I've been at the receiving end of some or other caveman's club.

Yep.

In fact, my years of clsuters have now left me with a numb, swollen feeling on the left side of my face constantly, even out of cycle.  Left side sinus also gives me a lot more trouble than the non-cluster side.

Sometimes I'm not so sure about clusters doing no permanent damage.

Ok, now I don't feel so strange.  I at first thought it had something to do with the meds I'm on, but at least I know I'm not alone.

For me it has always been a common side effect of attacks.  It's tough to think positive when even your hair hurts.
