Please humor an old man

Since I have no life beyond ch, I was wondering if you all can give me a little info about yourselves for me to play around with. I'd like to know if, when you're not in cycle, and I know that's hard for chronics, is your blood pressure usually high, low, or normal...high being above 140 or above 90. 140/84 is high and 135/92 would also be high. Low is below 110 or below 70. Normal would be anything in between. Also are you chronic or episodic and are your HA's mostly daytime or nite time. For instance...my bp is borderline high, I am episodic, and my HA's are primarily nite time. Thanks. The Old Man

Hey old man... I'm a chronic with severe episodes (they come and go as they please) I have high BP - higher during hits (170/100 during a k9) I can't take triptans My regular chronic hits tend to stay below k7 I probably get hit 3-5X day. I shadow on and off all day, everyday. I almost never get hit at night During my episodes, I get hit more often with much higher kips Hope that was helpful...nani (the old lady)

Hi Old Man, Episodic here, and think my current cycle is at end, no hits fer 2 days, Hooray after 17 weeks! Last check at Neuro's office in Nov while in cycle, BP was @ 140/92. BP when not in cycle and @ rest is usually around 120/70. My HAs, when at peak occur throughout the day & night, sometimes spaced only 2-1/2 hours apart and lasting about 1 hour. Hope you're feelin better.

Oh Nani! That wasn't nice! You'll hurt his feelings and then he'll tell ya that ya suck and then the fight will be on! To answer the "nice old man" - I'm an episodic - usually the beginning of February (damn, I'm starting already to get cranky about that). When in cycle, my BP goes up a fair bit but ordinarily it's at 110/80 which is good I guess. I guess I'm considered one of the luckier ones - my hits are almost always in the middle of the night - about an hour or two after I've gone to bed. It's a concern when you say you have no life beyond CH. Hopefully you're kidding - there is a lot more out there, please don't let this monster consume you completely. Carol

Chronic here, bp is almost always 120/70, except during an actual attack and I've moved my house over about 10 ft. or so. I just move it back again with the next HA. Almost always hit, 1am, 3am, 6am , 1pm, 7pm. PFD, Bobbio.

Don, I'm 60. There's no advantage to getting old. The only good thing is that I no longer fear dying young. Carol, I was kidding. I can function just fine during the day because I only get hit at night. I AM tired though from the constantly interrupted sleep. I'm regular with the hits...1:30, 3:30, 5:30...that's when I get up for the day. I usually don't get another hit until 1:30 am again. They last about 45 minutes to an hour, and I fight them barehanded...no meds at all. The Old Man

Hey ole man, I'm 44 episodic (female) for about 25 years. As for when attacks establish pattern - it can start out one way and morph throughout cycle. Hardest hits wake me from sleep or begin occuring late afternoon into the early morning hours. The daytime episodes are mostly strong shadows that increase towards evening and early morning. BP is low all the time and drops off even lower when attacks hit. I am somewhat of a heavy smoker and have wondered if this is related to BP levels. But lots of heavy smokers (and drinkers) here and not too many hits on the LOW BP....hmmmm I've talked about BPlevels b4 and so far gotten similar responses to you***

Hiya old guy, I'm 31 episodic...2 brief cycles a yr. (1month) since 1995. This yr my cycle has been going strong since May. 8 months...Go figure. Blood pressure is just fine and I get daytime hits now mostly since I started using melatonin in July. Once in a while I will be awaken with a tweak. Wishing you well. Eric.... Oh yeah I'm a Scorpio and I like earth tones but look good in many colors

My BP is normal and believe it remains that way during cycles. I get hit by headaches in the day and can be woken up at night. Episodic: I'm in a cycle now, the last one was summer of 2002 and before that was 1.5 years earlier, each cycle lasting about a month. I wish a pain-free year for 2005, and beyond, for all other CH sufferers. May the medical world provide more answers and relief. For now, Imigran (sumatriptan) is a relief for me, but I live in a country where it's not available in injection. Thanksfully, I do have the sprays.
