Hi. Just found this site. I have just started getting the WORST headaches of my life. I can go to bed and for the last three nights about ten-fifteen minutes after putting my head down it feels like i am being stamped on. Its only on the right side round my eye and the lower and upper jaw. I can only describe the feeling is like my teeth being ripped out of my jaw and my cheek bone being drilled into. I am getting married in five days and i need my sleep. Am i suffering and if so how can i stop it or get some sleep. Help please.

Hi, the only way to know for sure is being diagnosed by a doctor. I havent been officially dagnosed yet, but im pretty sure its what i have been going through, too. you can take the cluster quiz on the left and see how that comes out. For me, I havent found anything to help yet. but different things help different people. congratulations on getting married, Hope you get some sleep.

Since you have not been diagnosed and you probably wont have a chance to before you get married try energy drinks Red Bull,Monster anything with the combination of Taurine and Caffeine in it, at the first sign of being hit slam one down as fast as you can even try 2 if you have to. It's worth a try since you will not be able to get any meds til after you get a script. Then soon as you get back from your honeymoon go see a neurologists and get the ball rolling. Good luck. Dave

Try Ice packs and stick your head in the freezer too. Breathing cold air can help. If it gets too bad go the ER or a local fire house and ask to get on Oxygen. 100% O2 at the highest flow rate they can give you. Hopefully around 15lpm. If you get to this quick enough it can abort a headache in 15 minutes. It will also give you a good idea if CH is what you are really dealing with. An ER might give you a shot of Imitrex too. That'll kill the beast very quickly. Good luck with the wedding and the Honeymoon. -Dennis-

Until you get to see a Doctor, you can try some over the counter stuff that might help. Melatonin 9mg at night to help with those night hits and Benadryl before going to bed. Energy drinks are other option and of course ice packs to the site . I really hope you don't have CH but if you do, you are welcome here Avoid alcohol as it is a trigger for lots of us and I wish you are pain free for your wedding. Congratulations! Rosy.

It is up to YOU to educate yourself and then help your doctor plan your treatment. If you just sit down in front of your doctor and say "make me better" you are setting yourself up for a great deal of pain.
