Hello,
I just found this site, and thought I might join and talk with others who suffer with CH's.
I'm 23 years old, and have had this now for a few years.
So, I'm just here to see what kinds of things people do to cope, and meet some fellow suffers, too.

Have a good day!

Hi Blu...

Could you give us some history about you?  What meds you have tried, whats worked what hasn't?  Episodic?  Chronic?

Wish you didn't have to find us, but for anyone who suffers, this is the place to be.

Oxygen, at the first twinge of pain.  With a regulator that goes to 15 LPM and a non-rebreather mask.

Hello again,
Well, here's my story:
I started getting these intense pains on my right side of my head when I was about 15.
The pain went on for about a month before I went to see my doctor, as I was starting to get really scared (I was thinking the worst, and that it was a brain tumor or something), and the sharp pain behind my eye was so intense it felt like it was about to burst out of my head Sad.
She told me it was nothing, and that I just had a sinus infection. The headaches stayed for about 2-3 months, then went away. I kept on getting them every few months with remission in between for years ( I went back to my doc a few times after, still got the same story, she wasn't at all a good doctor. I had to beg her for a CT scan, I did  finally get one). So, finally a year and a half ago I went to a new doctor, and he said I have cluster headaches.
I haven't used any prescription drugs (I'm on Paxil for BDD, and hate having to take drugs) but oxygen does help me, and makes my day a little easier.
At this very moment I am suffering with a CH, just started getting them again last week. So maybe people here can advise me on what they take, and what works, then I can talk to my doctor about it.
I'm glad there's a site out here for people with this horrible condition, as I know no one personally with it.
Thanks for reading.

Dear Blu:

Oxygen at a high flow rate is great if it works for you.  I use Imitrex injections which work every time for me.  These are abortive measures.

Preventative measures include, among others, verapamil (a calcium channel blocker).

One thing you have here is a group of people who really DO have a clue what you are going through!

My best wishes to you for pain free days and nights,

Ray
