just wanted to introduce myself

hi all. my name is jay and i have been having this wonderful experience since my early 20's. i am 37 now so this thing has been with me for awhile. since last summer the monster tries to visit multiple times a day and likes to wake me up from a deep sleep. lucky for me my pcp doc(the man is a savior, my neuro is another story)gave me dhe. thank goodness the beast doesnt like ergotomine so i take that during the day, and for the night attacks i have o2 next to my bed. anyways i just wanted to introduce myself and pick everyone's brain on what they take and how they get through each day. i just wanted to say you all are the toughest people alive because i dont know many that can deal with this. pf days for all

Top of the day to you Jaynik!!! My regimen.....I'm episodic, usually 2X a year, around the time changes, for about 12 weeks.
When my cycle starts I do a 2 week prednisone taper and start lithium, building up over about a 7 day period to 1200 mg a day. That's my prevent defense.
Abortive I use oxygen wirh oral cafergot, or imitrex injections. I've been duking it out with the beast since I was in my late teens, I'm 47 now. Welcome to the nut house, hope we can help you out.

thanks for the welcome Guiseppi, when i found this site i almost cried lol, it's unfortunate that there are other people out there with this terrible horrible thing but at the same time it is nice to know that there are people out there like me and understand what i'm goin through!!! most people look at me as if i'm crazy

Well it's quite possible you are......crazy I mean!!!! Most people have the same reaction when the find the board....."holy sh$# I'm not alone someone else REALLY understands me!" It's a great family here, stick arouind in and out of cycle, there is a tremendous amount of information to be had here.
When you get a chance, post the whole regimen you use, give us a chance to give you some suggestions if we can!!

sure thing i'm on ergotime injections and o2, the dhe works most of the time but there are sometimes that it doesnt work. in those cases i go staright to the o2

Whats up Jaynik I'm new here too these folks are alot of help I've CHs since I was 14 I'm now 42 they suck I take Imitrex to abort they work every time. I take Calan (verapimil) as a preventive and I go to Diamond Headache Clinic if they get out of hand .I've been through 2 stints of histamine treatments 10 days each the first time it worked for 8 years the second time it only worked for 2  . Good luck and many pf days
