Well, I was a member 10 years ago and thankfully, the headaches stopped for years. I dropped out of the org. Well, I'm back. Easy to guess why. All the best. Testy

Welcome back, I am a whisker envious of your 10 year break! Quite a bit has changed, some new meds, treatments, let us know what was working 10 years ago, maybe it can be improved upon. Sorry the beast re awoke! Guiseppi

Hello Testy01, Had a 9-10 year remission myself. Was so long I forgot what the original diagnosis was. Back to Neuro in 2003 and walked away with "Trigeminal Neuralgia". From 2003-2007 walked out of the Neuro's office misdiagnosed with "Trigeminal Neuralgia". Good thing you remembered your original diagnosis. There is a lot of good information to be found here. Simple things like Red Bull and oxygen to help abort an episode. Hope you find what helps you and puts the beast in hiding again. Donnie

Thanks to all. Thanks for replying. This has always been one of the friendliest places on the net. This latest bout is almost certainly caused by stress. I lost my wife of 22 years to cancer in December and am not dealing with it as well as I think I should. By the end of December I was having 1 - 2 / day and now I'm up to 3/day. Oh well, the pain is still there but at least I'm no longer afraid of it. Before I bumped into the old board, I was absolutely certain I was having some kind of ugly cerebral event like a stroke or tumor or something equally horrible. All the best to all of you. Jack

| Donnie. You should have seen me scrounging through old medicine bottles for the cafergot. That's about all I've found that really helps. Well, I've found that enough caffeine (ie Red Bull) helps although I usually go for espresso. I've just never figured out what to do at 3 AM when I've just drank a double shot of espresso. This cycle I've got to try the oxygen. I've got a couple of small cylinders so I'll give it a shot. Regards and thanks. Jack

| Guiseppi. Good to hear that some new things are available. The last time I put this thing to bed I happened to be in Amsterdam on business and was in the middle of a cycle. I staggered down to the coffeeshop district and bought 6 packets of the mushrooms. When I got back to the room I ate almost all of them. I seriously overdid it and didn't feel normal for several days. It worked though. I've been able to have a glass of wine with my meals or before bed for almost a decade now. Regards Jack

Hey RosieBabe Thanks for the welcome. This isn't so bad yet except that the HAs always seem to happen at the most inopportune moment. Parties, meetings, any social gathering. Whenever it is most inconvenient! Never mind. As long as I know I'm not having a stroke or something. Anyway, thanks again and all the best to you. Jack.
