Well I have been blessed with about 3 years of cluster free days and I was hoping that they were gone for good. In fact it has been so long that I forgot what medications I had been prescribed. With the time frame in mind I was soon reminded of the intense pain and the fatique caused by being awaken at all hours of the night. I wont say I am glad to bee back due tothe discomfort and pain of the clusters but I will say that I am glad to see so many supportive people still here. Forgive me for the rambling, haven't slept in about three nights. My family, especially my wife is very disheartened that the demon has returned. I hope to get to know some of you and that we will have a chance to share information.

Might want to refresh yourself about meds choices before seeing your doc. http://www.headachedrugs.com/pdf/ha2006.pdf Dr. Robbins site. ======================================================================== ======================================== Here is a link to read and print and take to your doctor. It describes preventive, transitional, abortive and surgical treatments for CH. Written by one of the better headache docs in the U.S. (2002) http://www.brightok.net/~mnjday/chtherapy.pdf

Russ, I got mine came back too the first week of Jan, after a 3 year break. I know how it feels to be blind sided; all my meds had expired. It hit me in the middle of the night, I thought it was a nightmare and in a way it really was. My forever returning nightmare. Good luck! and I pray we both get another long break when this is over. Welcome back Russ. Sorry you had to return. That's great news about the pf years, a rare gift. Maybe just a short bout this time then you can go for five. In any case, someone will be here to share. Hang tough.

Russ, I'm sorry that you're back. If it's any consolation at all, three years is a good long time and you can be glad "it" left you alone for so long. If your wife needs to talk tell her to go to this link and we will be more than happy to listen or talk about ways she can cope and also help you through what I am certain will be a VERY SHORT cycle this time. http://www.ouch-us.org/familysvs/familysvs1.shtml Linda

Hi Russ and Welcome Back Last time arround, did you try 02? I can't take triptans, so 02 is my only abortive . . . . works for 60-70% of us. Requires 15lpm regulator and a non-rebreather mask (the one with the bag) or (highly recommended) Clustermasx. Be Safe, PFDANs Richard

i can't seem to get the Dr. to prescribe 02, I wish I could. If I go to the ER they put me on 02 and the beast is goone in about 5 minutes. My neurologist has me on anti-seizure medication (Depakote, Verapamil, and Doxipene) as preventative and Zomig for abortive.

| You need to either: a) get more persuasive, or b) get a new doc. PFDAN
