Just found the site today and happy to see I'm not the only one, of course there has been times I thought I was. I'm 34 years old and have had clusters ever since I can remember and taking just about every drug doctors thought would help. I"m now taking the Imitrex injections which helps for that moment but it's like if I don't let the pain play out it's never going to go away. My Doctor now wants me to try a nerve block, not excited about that but willing to try anything to stop the pain in my head. This year has been the worst by far, on average about 6 "headaches" a week. My employer has not been happy to say the least but I don't know what else do. I'm an Events Mgr. for the city civic center so I work on average about 60 hours a week. I have missed days because of it, but I can honestly say that I have never missed an event because of it. Yet I still hear alot of bull, I'm so sick of hearing "Yea, I had a bad headache once" or "I don't understand how a headache can keep you from working". I'm not sure what else I can say except it hurts like hell and I don't know why the medicine doesn't work every time! Tomorrow the Doctor will call about the nerve block procedure, scared to death to have it done (never had any surgery or health condition other than the pain in my head) but I have to do something to get my boss of my @$$. Well enough of my complaing, thanks for listening.

Second....lets us know what meds you have taken, maybe we can help with combos of meds that work.

Have you tried 02?.....works wonders for most.

It is up to YOU to educate yourself and then help your doctor plan your treatment. If you just sit down in front of your doctor and say "make me better" you are setting yourself up for a great deal of pain.

Jonny
thanks for the quick reply to my post, what meds I have taken: Cafergot, Midren, Rhinacort, Imitrex tabs, nasal, and injections, Maxalt, Topomax, Singular, Allegra, and there are a couple of others from youth I can't remember. Currently though I take the shots, and the Singular, Allegra and Topomax to prevent.

Thanks for the help.
