Back after a long remission

After being relatively cluster free for a few years, they are back. I was diagnosed with clusters in 1977 and went from episodic to chronic in 1987. Except for an occasional attack I have been free of clusters since 2003.
I am very fortunate in the fact that oxygen is like magic for me.  Over the years I have learned to cope by making oxygen available at all times. I have O2 bottles for the truck, motorcycle, house. I planned my life around an oxygen supply. I worked in a hospital (not in a medical field) so oxygen would be available to me while at work.
When the clusters stopped I took a new job in 2005. I now work for a software company and travel is a big part of the job. Now that the clusters are back travel is torture. Airplane flights trigger an attack almost every time. I hate waking up in a hotel room at 1:00 am terrified because it has started and I know that I am in for 3 hours of hell. I don't care what they do to me, I will not allow clusters to destroy my life again.
I see portable oxygen concentrators advertised. Does anyone know if these  produce enough oxygen to abort a CH? If anyone has any experience with these I would like to hear about it.

G'day Nov, and sorry you had to find us again.  Just over on the left is an Oxygen Info button that may include some serious updates on effective usage that may not have been around when you were last here, particularly regarding masks and flow.

Happy hunting and smiles all round,

Brian down under.

There are smaller oxygen tanks that can fit into a suitcase or a back pack for travelling.

Someone will pop in soon to tell you more as I have seen them but have not used one.

Painfree wishes to you and welcome.

Hey N'Red, I have no advice on O2 just a Welcome to the board.
I see you're in San Diego. Have you checked the messages below in the Gatherings section? You can ask you questions up close and personal in January.

Airplanes will not allow me to bring an O2 tank aboard, no matter how small. If I give the airline notice and pay a fee they will have O2 aboard for me. I fly on very short notice so there is no time to arrange it with the airline(s).
I also spend 3-5 nights a week in hotels. If one of those oxygen concentrators would generate enough O2, I could pack it in my luggage and at least be covered for the night time screamers and head bangers.
How many LPM can they generate?
