hi everyone, First of all I'd like to say how great it is to finally have people to talk to about this. I have a few questions if anybody has anything to contribute, anything at all please do.
My fiancee (whom I've been with for 4 years) has been suffering with chronic, violent headaches since he was 13. They do not fit all the symptoms of cluster headaches, his pain is located right in the center of his head. He has headaches that last anywhere from 4 days to 4 months. He has had no help from doctors, they all just prescribe him advil and tylenol, which does nothing. His headaches are unbearable and he often smashes his head, cries, "zones out" and awakens from sleep with them.
I don't know if he has cluster headaches, but if anyone has similar symptoms and has any ideas for how to help him, I will be there new best friend.

Try lots of strong coffee at the onset of the HA. Caffeine works on different types of headaches. Have your other half take a look at the cluster quiz on the left. 02 helps,  again read the o2 information on the left. Have to have more help from the doctor than what has been gotten so far. A clear diagnosis is needed. Not familiar with the public health thing in canada so...someone from up there will be along I hope.

thanx for your help, My boyfriend (sutton) has found that caffein helps. he's had a few doctors diagnose him with migraines and a few say that it's probably cluster headaches. Which I don't understand. After reading all the posting boards I've found that eye pain is a pimary sympton, he doesn't have that. But he doen't get the nausea or dizziness from migraines either. The doctor says that he's probably got clusters because his dad has suffered with them for 25 years. The doctor even pulled out all off his teeth as an experimental procedure to stop the pain.
I'm so worried about Suttons headaches never getting fixed, and I know that I need to keep trying to find the right doctor, but so far they're all incompetant and it's soooo discouraging.
I really do appreciate all the support on this website, and any information u guys may have to offer me.

It is up to YOU to educate yourself and then help your doctor plan your treatment. If you just sit down in front of your doctor and say "make me better" you are setting yourself up for a great deal of pain.
