Importing medications

hello everyboby! I need some advice on importing medications. I've been taking a medication called Ormigrein for more than 20 years. It works great, at least to me, as a preventive medication.
The thing is that this is made in Brazil. Since I moved to US, I've tried other locally available drugs, but nothing worked as well.
So, I have friends sending this drug from Brazil by mail.
However, a few months ago, the FDA started to retain my mailed drugs, and it is always a big trouble to get them to release it to me. I have asked FDA about an special permission to import this but nobody gave me a solution to that.
I don't know if this medication is approved here, but I know that everything in the formulation is approved. looks like that the right combination of each ingridient is what makes it work.
I have tried to take the formulation to a doctor, so he could prescribe me each ingridient, but also did not work, because one of the ingridients is Ergotamine, and the doctors will not prescribe me more than 2mg/day, and I've been taking 4mg/day for years, and working fine.
Anyway, if someone can help me with some advice, I'll appreciate. Otherwise, I think I'll need to go back to Brazil, and I don't wanna do that. I love US, hehehe!

Ergotamine is still on the U.S. market but it has largely been replaced by other, more effective, abortives.
Here is a link to read and print and take to your doctor. It describes preventive, transitional, abortive and surgical treatments for CH. Written by one of the better headache docs in the U.S. (2002)

You will find in this article, reference to Zyprexa (olanzapine) as an abortive. From a cost per dose point of view, it's very attractive and worth asking your doc for a sample to see if it helps you.
