I'm baaaaaaaak!

Hi all. I registered here about 2.5 yrs ago. I didn't stay long as I didn't find this place until the end of the cycle. Once the cycle was done, we got back to our regular schedule and kinda just pushed this nitemare to the side. Partly in hopes that it wouldn't come back again. You know, if we don't acknowledge it, it's not there. Well the nitemare has returned. My bf is Episodic. His cycles come every 2.5-3 yrs. this is his 3rd cycle. Just started the other day. Timing couldn't be worse. He's stuck in a shitty job, was looking to get a new job and/or go to school for something else. Plus the other day, he signed a waiver at work declining med ins. The.very.next.day. his headaches started. i told him not to do that. He hasn't really tried any treatments. I think the last cycle, they put him on prednisone, but it made him crazy. Literally. He said he had thoughts that scared the shit out of him. And the look he gave me when saying that.........I don't even want to know. So that will not be done again. I just read about the WWW and told him about it, so he is going to try that out. Other than that, that's it. Not having ins is going to make this all but impossible to try and treat. But at least in Chicago, we have county hospital, which gives free medical care. However, it's a nitemare to deal with. But he's going to have to now. We are not married, but have been together for 9 yrs. We have 2 young boys, ages 1 and 3. We live in chicago. He is ........*thinking*........34. I am forever 29. Um, not sure what else to say here. I am now off to peruse the boards.

MoonHoney, Hi sorry to see you back but at least you already know your way around. Any chance you can make it to the convention? today is the last day for room reservations so if you even think you can make one! you can always cancel later. I just made mine even tho I don,t yet see how I am going to afford to get there. You live within easy driving distance and I am sure that attending even part of it would do you and your mate a world of good. I am formerly from Chicago and am going to try everything I can to make it and make the Clusterbuster Convention which is IN Chicago! Check the posts on the General Board for info on both. I hope coming home to clusterville will bring you both some relief! .........Tim

Please read the kudzu threads. They're not meds, so he would not be violating any waivers. Seem to be a systemic thing. For me, it takes the pain off the top level where it helps the most. Takes about 10 days to reach maximum benefit. Charlotte

The convention in WI? No, I won't be able to make that one. $$ is tight in our house at the moment. I'll look into the one in Chicago tho. I just got done reading thru the Kudzu thread and have already placed my order for it. I told the bf about it and we are both excited. So many good results.

It is up to YOU to educate yourself and then help your doctor plan your treatment. If you just sit down in front of your doctor and say "make me better" you are setting yourself up for a great deal of pain.
