Hi there, I'm Tracy from the UK. I have just recently been diagnosed as suffering from cluster headaches, I had never heard of them before! I have read alot of posts and stories and my attacks aren't as severe as some. I am currently in an attack which has lasted 2 weeks so far. My pain in constant, it doesn't come and go as seems to be the norm, but the descriptions on this site of what the pains are like for people are spot on, when it first came on I really thought I had got a brain tumor or something. I can live with it with the painkillers my doctor has prescribed, Codydromol. It is worse at night and i do have difficulty sleeping sometimes. I think its fantastic that this site is here and I'm very glad I found it!! Just out of interest, I have also just been diagnosed with a irregular heartbeat. I have to go for more tests next week, I wondered if anyone else has maybe had experience with this and if the 2 could be connected? Many thanks!! Tracy

Tracy, Constant pain?? 2 weeks? I'm glad you are here, and there are plenty here with a lot of help, but first, let's be sure you're in the right place, as something isnt right! You have the DX.....have you taken the cluster quiz? The reason I ask is because, by their very nature, CLUSTER headaches actually come in CLUSTERS....you can shadow for long periods, but, unless you are getting rebound hits from your meds, things just dont seem right. *********Please help us out here, so we can sort this thing out together.********* We want you pain-free! Cathi

Hi there, I did take the cluster quiz and apart from one answer on each side being wrong all the others pointed to that it is cluster headaches Im suffering from. When I say constant, I have a dull ache on the right side of my forehead which is there all the time, the really bad pain seems to come in waves over the top of the right side of my head, this doesn't necessarily happen only at night but during the day too. I also get stabbing pains into the side of my head on the right side. These happen in waves also but not only at night. I hope my doc diagnosed me right!! Cheers Tracy

| Welcome Tracy, I am glad that you found us,but sorry that you had to. Although your Doc may have diagnosed you properly (the chronic pain is a real outlier), it doesn't look ike he is giving you anything that would be helpful with CH. Please read all that you can on this site, particularly the medical and Oxygen info on the right and go bacl to him armed with some information regarding appropriate treatment of this condition. I am pretty sure that everything you need to know is here, so read all you can and ask any questions you may have
