Hi All, I have episodc CH's they started 4 years ago and repeat every 2 years for about 2 months. I thought I had it bad but you guys out there that have them 8 times a day, my heart truly bleeds for you. My doc said i had tension headaches the first time it happened, apparently it is possible to be stressed while your in your first year of university....This is the third episode i have had and finally they told me its CHs. Now i am on amitryptaline hydrochloride 10mg once a day, with rizatriptan if I feel one coming on. Anyhow now that i have introduced me, I have to ask, are there any clinical trials aimed at the hypothalmus and CH? Has anyone been on one of these trials? They say a little bit of pain never hurt nobody, thats bollox... it bloody hurts. Thanks guys

As a sufferer of this dread condition you're certainly in the right place and welcome aboard. The buttons over on the left contain huge amounts of excellent information and are well worth a browse. No single course of action works for everybody but knowing what's available is a terrific help. Just let us know how you're getting on and we'll back you every inch of the way. That's what we're here for and happy to oblige, Brian.

Look for OUCH (UK), left hand button, and go to: http://www.ion.ucl.ac.uk . This group is a world leader in headache research. Both sites may be able to provide info. about trials.

This Site is a great site for information. Have you tried O2 if Not the IoN at Queens square London still need a few episodics to trial this treatment before the UK can licence it's use as an abortive. Lots of Info on OUCH UK members board.
