New Guy here at the recommend of nani

nani was kind enough to share this centralized meeting place with me at another board (Brain Talk Communities - Headaches). I, like her, have TMJ -- which has subsequently lead to the cluster type unilateral vascular headaches. Rather than plunk out my life story here, I'll save your eyes the strain, and just say I belong here like Cliff Clavin does at a Boston speakeasy. Aura, nausea, crippling pain, pacing, pale sweating, nasal drip, unilateral behind the eye goblins are the enemy. Here's to making this place headquarters in the war. Real name's Brian btw (eGAD is the pseudonym to represent the GAD I also have in addition to the lovely TMJ).

eGAD's a name-dropper. eGAD's a name dropper. But otherwise, I expect, a decent sort of bloke. G'day, mate, and welcome aboard. Heaps of information here about all sorts of different things and we hope some of it helps.

Hi Brian!! I'm so glad to see you here. Now that you are, start reading. I know you'll be seeing your dr again soon, so start by reading this: http://www.brightok.net/~mnjday/chtherapy.pdf You may want to print it out and take it with you. Also, read the oxygen info link on the left. Ask any other questions you may have... this crazy bunch of people will likely have an answer. Welcome. pain free wishes, nani

I am glad that you followed Nani's advice (great gal!)and found your way here. As has been said, there is probably more info here about CH than anywhere else on earth along with a great group of folks that will take the time to teach, share, and just listen when needed.

Welcome to the zoo, Brian. Glad you to see you took Nani's advice. Now your work begins in earnest. You are your own best advocate in your treatment. Read all you can and gain as much knowledge as possible.

It is up to YOU to educate yourself and then help your doctor plan your treatment. If you just sit down in front of your doctor and say "make me better" you are setting yourself up for a great deal of pain.

Read all you can and gain as much knowledge as possible. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ditto to what Gator said. Take care of yourself and keep asking questions till you get the answer. Bad to hear you had to go to war with the beast but (the strong survive) you have found one of the strongest armies on earth here.

Thx for the greets all. Nani - I've read the pdf thx. I'll be looking into a few of those options shortly. I'll bore you with the details as they come. Been battling the "beast" as you guys call it, for the past few days now - so much so I couldn't even log on to type, much less look at a computer monitor. Jonny - My neuro thinks my TMJ is causing the clusters, and that the TMJ is being brought on by a a cervical spine sublaxation and entrapped nerve.. Just know that my TMJ only affects the left side of my jaw where I gnash my back left teeth when I sleep. The misalignment of my spine is the culprit (left leg is literally and inch longer than the other since an injury several years ago). I've got a primary, a neuro, and ENT all looking at the causes and treatment options now - I'm likely seeing a chiro that specializes in sublaxation and TMJ symptoms soon. If I had any more doctors at this point, I'd be an ER room. It's flippin lame really, as I can "feel" my neck out of alignment profoundly every day. It's crazy -- When I laugh my neck tilts at an odd angle (lol), my swallowing is affected, and I can feel the path the beast takes on the left side coming from my cervical spine and travelling up my neck, going right by the ear and into jaw, then to the temple and branching into cheek and eye with the trig nerve (*I can trace the exact path with finger).

Welcome Brian, As others have said, any firiend of Nani's ..... Hope you find some answers for your clusters here. Sure can't help with the spine or TMJ things necessarily, but this place is a wealth of knowledge about clusters. Hugs and PF Wishes, Kris

We had to find this place all on our own, but it doesn't matter how you get here, if you're a clusterhead (or supporter, like me), this is the place to be. We've been here about a week. Hubby started the Kudzu routine 5 1/2 days ago, and it has made an amazing difference for him. So.... read up, and try, try, try!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wishing you pf days, Laurie
