Hello all my fellow pain sufferers, Sorry to see so many of you in here....just kidding. It's actually comforting to know that there's a whole community of support available for those of us unlucky ones that have to deal with this muthaf'in beast. My name is Dan and I am 35 years old. Probably been suffering for close to 15 years now....although I was not diagnosed with CH until after a few years of suffering, nasal surgery, Imitrex tablets (that didn't do shit) and a bunch of other stuff that may work for regular migraines. Anyway, once I discovered Imitrex injections and O2, my cycles have been easier. Haven't found much luck with maintenance drugs(Depakote, Verapamil) until recently. I decided to give Verapamil another try, this time with 360 mg daily and after about 4 weeks, it seems that the cycle is ending....after 3 months. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for all of us. Here's to peaceful pain-free days/nights for all of us. Dan M.

Welcome to the village of the damned! Glad the trex and 02 are working but I agree, you should try and find a preventative too. I imagine even with insurance they don't give that trex away for free! Your verapamil dose sounds low, I tried it 20 years ago but dose was even lower then yours so it did nothing for me. The people who post using verapamil speak of much higher dosages. I use lithium now and it works like a charm so I don't tinker. Glad you found us, hope you find help here. Guiseppi

Here is a link to read and print and take to your doctor. It describes preventive, transitional, abortive and surgical treatments for CH. (2002) http://www.brightok.net/~mnjday/chtherapy.pdf
