Make a Difference

Any time you think you’ve given your best for someone else, remember our military men and women who are making even greater sacrifices for all of us. They’re away from home, family, and loved ones this Christmas hunkered down on foreign soil, flying over it, and at sea steaming nearby. All are serving voluntarily to protect our way of life, keep us safe, and keep us free. If you want to make a difference, the next you see young man or woman in uniform, walk up and tell them, “Thank you for your service to our country, I appreciate what you’re doing for us.” If you really want to get in the spirit of giving, pick up some inexpensive gym bags, stuff them with goodies, then take them to a visit with troops wounded in action and recovering back here at any of the major military hospitals. I can tell you for a fact the experience will water your eyes and your problems will pale in comparison… If you can’t make it that far, a contribution of any size to the Fisher House is a form of “Pay Ahead” that will bring you many rewards. Fisher House provides free or low cost lodging to veterans and military families receiving treatment at military medical centers. The url is: http://www.fisherhouse.org/. Cheers and take care, V/R, Batch

You love lots of things if you live around them. But there isn't any woman and there isn't any horse, not any before nor after, that’s as lovely as a great airplane. Man has one virginity to lose in fighters, and if it is a lovely airplane he loses it to, there is where his heart will forever be.

It is up to YOU to educate yourself and then help your doctor plan your treatment. If you just sit down in front of your doctor and say "make me better" you are setting yourself up for a great deal of pain.

Let me thow another one in ..... Don't forget the vets from "other" wars who have serverd and are "home" now and 'still' recovering. During the year (not just at Christmas) why not take the time to pay them a visit (some live in isolation because of their injuries) - you'd be surprised how far that goes. Batch, I agree, we need to say THANK YOU to our vets, all of them. And we need to do it every day. Hugs BD
