Did a gingerbread tree...

the kids and I this evening. I got this beautiful cake platter from our neighbor for Christmas and I think the the tree looks quite nice on it.

I wish that when I was a kid we would have done Christmas trees instead of gingerbread houses, which took away mom's patience... It's not fun, when you can't get the pieces to stick together, although you're made the sugary thing which is supposed to glue them by the book.
Helsingin Sanomat, a daily newspaper, arranged a gingerbread competition. You can find the gingerbread works of art right here. Click "seuraava kuva" when you want to see the next pic. I must warn you; there are LOTS of them! And some are incredible.
