I'd love to hear from those clusterheads how still have power in this massive ice storm sweeping across the Midwest. We're north of Milwaukee and so far it's all snow for us. Terry in Davenport - you still plugged in? Groov? MR_Floor? Deej and Steph? Whoever I'm forgetting, I'm sorry - just let us know you're ok.

I'm in Oklahoma City, and most of the City and surrounding areas are without power, including me....and its COLD!!! burning a lot of firewood at the moment.....and we still have more ICE and snow predicted for the rest of the week! I just happen to be lucky enough that my work has not lost power, so I'm working and can get to a computer...thanks for checking on us!

Ice storm was predicted here, but never materialized. School was canceled yesterday....the kids were happy............I drove through several towns in the area and no ice. Today was like driving through pea soup...............it's just now starting to clear. Beth

| Our schools were canceled today and all we have is snow . . . jumped the gun I think. You'll have to ask Brew about that missing truck . . . I'm still waiting for UPS! LOL.

| Nice - rub our noses in it . . . Since we don't seem in imminent danger of losing power, I made sweet/sour cabbage soup and garlic rosemary bread for dinner. The house smells fantastic, brew made a fire in the fireplace, and it's snowing like an SOB outdoors. Another day in paradise . . .

All is well here in Stillwater, OK. Not so good for some of the surrounding areas, though. I think the latest estimate I heard on the news was close to half a million homes without power statewide. It translated to over a million people without power. According to the news, this is one of the worst (if not THE worst) ice storms in Oklahoma history. My thoughts go out to anyone who is without power. I can definitely relate. Back in the 2002 ice storm, I lived out in the boonies. We were without power for almost a week and we were still lucky. Some went a month or more. Thanks for thinking of us!

I just have to send out a huge THANKS and GOD BLESS YOU to the people who are working round the clock to restore power here, we have our OKC electric guys, and over 1,000 from Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi coming up to pitch in....I can't imagine working in those conditions!! Please say a prayer for our men/women out there working their hineys off!

I was living in Canada during the 2002 ice storm and we were without power for 18 days. It sucked but the sense of community was massive and helped everyone to pull through. I'll be thinking of those stuck without power. Sending warm thoughts. Em

Well, we had about a quarter inch of ice yesterday morning, and school was closed and I worked from home. I has rained all day long today, temps in the mid thirties, but now they are dropping... So, we will see what we wake up to in the morning. Bridget

| And I was taught it's better to give than receive . . . so consider this a "regifting" of the 6 inches of fresh powder we received today . . .

Apology accepted - because we didn't get any ice from this storm. Just snow. 6". But you can have the Nor'easter. I've only seen pictures, but they can be waaaayy nasty. Glad I've never had to deal with one of those.

Out here on the east coast, we have started calling Nor'easters "French Toast Storms" because at first notice of a Nor'Easter, most people run to the store to stock up on bread, milk and eggs. I guess they think they are going to be snowed in for weeks?

We get more Nor Easters here than Iowa has corn husks. Most are nasty and some are downright dangerous.
