or been on the puter too much. I went to teach Eli how to play Go Fish and somehow it morphed into a form of rummy.  I actually had to look up on Wikipedia the rules to Go Fish!!! 
I'm losing my mind...

With Go Fish you have to keep all the cards in your hand and lay down same numbers in sets of 4. I was discarding them and picking up from the pile.

wirh continental you start with 6 cards and you have to make 2 triplets and then you have 7 cards and you have to make a triplet and a set of 4 straight (like 3,4,5,6 of the same figure) and then 8 cards and you have to make 2 sets of 4 straight and so on until you can't keep any more cards in your hand . I bet it has another name here

well the first game is with 6 cards and the one who makes the 2 triplets first wins, you have to pick and drop cards until you get the 2 sets, then the players who could not make the sets on time have to count the cards they got and write the score, the value is like this JQKA=25 and the rest is the number value in them.
the second game is 7 cards and so on, I think you can follow until 12 cards that would be 4 straights.

Well now... that explains it then!
My wife used to say she was dumb as dirt till the baby was two weeks old. Then I'd remind her that you're so sleep deprived at that point that you still can't carry on a simple conversation.

And there ya have it.
I have 7 kids, so I am loonier than most here and can speak from experience. Just today I am making cookies right? I've only made a gazillion cookies in my life-time.
So I mix and chop and stir and roll, put them on a cookie sheet and keep looking into the oven and they're still a gloppy conconction after 30 mins. . I forgot to turn the oven on..
