it seems that we should explicitly mention the "ten", since we're getting so far away from it that we might otherwise forget it!
So the "e" in eleven means "one", and the "tw" in twelve means "two"!

LOL - when my son was young we told him the ice cream truck was the "song truck" because it drove around playing music (the last thing I wanted was a precocious 3 year old running into the street after ice cream). So he stood at the end of the driveway with his dad dancing to the music of the "song truck."
