I had appointment with neuro yesterday he said that on the sleep apnea study in 6 hours I stopped breathing due to obstruction 101 times and O2 dropped to 79 each time and in 6 hours I almost stopped breathing 284 times but awoke or started breathing again for a total of 64 times an hour thats less than 1 minute an hour he said its the worse sleep apnea he has seen so next month when I can afford it I get the machine to help me sleep better maybe that will help with the clusters I hope Terry (no wonder I am so tired all the time)

Geez, that sounds pretty bad indeed. I hope you get hooked up with a CPAP machine soon. From what I understand, you'll probably feel like a new man very quickly once you start using it. Good luck!!! The last time they tried to do a sleep study on me, I was in the middle of a terrible bout of insomnia. I did try to warn them, but they didn't believe my insomnia was that bad. I never went to sleep - even after taking the sleeping pills. What an expensive waste of time. On the other hand, they did get to witness an attack, so maybe they learned something.

Terry - I had a sleep study done in 2001, got my CPAP machine a few weeks later. Averaged waking up 33 times per hour to reinitiate breathing. Hasn't done anything for the CH, but damn, do I sleep better and feel better during the day. You'll notice a difference almost immediately. Just stick it out the first few days - it takes awhile to get used to. Now I never go to sleep without it. Even naps (when I can get one).

It's kinda like sleeping with Darth Vader but I got used to it. ESPECIALLY since there's no more snoring! Glad you'll be getting some relief, Terry!

It is a good thing to get this taken care of asap. My Dad has a cpap machine. He was diagnosed when he was under anastesia having major surgery he quit breathing on them several times. Once he was concious the dr came in and told him he was getting a sleep study done imediatly before he let him leave the hospital. They sent him home with a cpap machine and that was it. He used to snore so loud the whole house could hear him. He would fall asleep during the daytime as soon as he sat down he would snooze. He got up several times during the night also. All of that stoped as soon as he got on the cpap machine. Said he never felt so rested in his life and he swears by it now.
