Tribute to my Father

To my friends: The world has lost a great man on 11-16-07 at 11:50 a.m. CST His mane was Daniel A. Milhone and he was my 75 year old Father. Dan is survived by his loving wife Shirley, sons: Daniel, Rev, Dave & blood Grandson Andy as well as his Daughter Michelle. Dan was a very successful businessman whose specialty was making struggling metal foundries profitable. His abilities were sought after by many foundries for over 30 years. As a testament to Dan’s integrity, he was invited to the Union Christmas party. This NEVER happens, having a manager invited to ANY Union party. This happened because my Father was a man of uncommon integrity and sense of fair play. Dan would stand up for any worker who deserved his help, often times at the risk of taking heat from his own superiors!!! This is only one of hundreds of stories told of Dan’s sacrifices and goodwill towards his fellow man. This type of integrity was something that was constant in Dan’s business as well as personal life. He volunteered for the Korean War because he felt it was his civic duty. He was involved with many groups in the community such as, but not limited to, The Jaycees, Junior Achievement, Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts. As a Father, Dan would want his kids to always do right. If they didn’t he would let them fall on their face, only to be right there to help them pick up the pieces. He NEVER made his kids feel stupid or ashamed, only understood and loved. Dan’s funeral was on 11-20-07 and those who attended all had a deep respect for him, his sense of decency and fair play… best of all felt the respect Dan had for all of them. Dan was one of those rare individuals who NEVER compromised his principals for personal gain. Due to his wisdom and hard work, he was a very successful man both in his business and personal life. He has given me and those around him so many wonderful things that we may never be able to repay him. He will be missed by many and is honored by all who had the privilege to know him. Dave Milhone

Thanks all, I really appreciate it. Yeah Charlie, you would have liked him. He genuinely respected other people. Anything you think or stand for ...he would not try to take it away or slag you off. He was a kool Pop !!!!! Cheers, Dave
