What have I learned in a year?
« on: Nov 18th, 2007, 4:12am »
Quote Quote Modify Modify

What have I learned in a year?

I learned that I am not alone.

I learned that my pain is not my own.

I learned that doctors are not always right.

I learned how to be proactive in my health care.

I learned that pain is nothing to fear.

I learned that fear is something to confront.

I learned that helping others is the best way to help yourself.

I learned that there is a God.

I learned that my family is larger than I could ever imagine.

I learned that sometimes a bad thing can be a beautiful gift in disguise.

I learned that feeling sorry for myself is a waste of precious energy and time.

I learned that treating others with respect is a gift that I give myself.

I learned that listening to others problems is sometimes the best medicine.

I learned that holding a grudge can break my back.

I learned that I have so much more to learn.

I learned that it's good to laugh at myself.

I learned that people really do care.

I learned that people with cluster headaches are a force to be reckoned with, applauded for their; strength, courage, compassion, helpfulness, determination, sense of humor and humanity.

In this past year my life has changed in so many different ways I can never begin to list  or name them all. I can never begin to thank you enough for everything you all have done for me. Today I celebrate not a milestone or the passing of a year... Today I celebrate all  of you... my brothers and sisters.

Thank you.

with warm regards,
Tony

It is up to YOU to educate yourself and then help your doctor plan your treatment. If you just sit down in front of your doctor and say "make me better" you are setting yourself up for a great deal of pain.
