McDonald's, anyone?

Timo has got several McDonald's gift certificates, so we've had 7 visits to the closest one in this city. 5 out of 7 times they've got something wrong with the order: - cold french fries (when we ate at the restaurant) - no ketchup (take away) - wrong drink twice - missing Happy Meal toy What's your experiences, did they got it right each time? Timo always feels sorry that we live in Finland; he is convinced that the burgers in here are much smaller than the ones in America... Sanna

i can tell u about greece that in general public mc donalds are concerned to be a failure.so it has been said that it is the first country that the franchise company was forced from the circumstances to adjust the menu according to eating habits of greeks.i dont know if thats true.but i agree with u that the burgers are small.it has been years since i ate there and i can still remember getting up hungry.

Finns love rye, so McDonald's had to make some adjustments here as well; we have McRye (well, McRuis) on the menu. Sanna

Sanna, sounds like a normal McDonald's to me, that is why we keep going back. Cold fries, wrong size drinks, Big Mac is just a Cheese Burger ect! Don't forget, The weight of the food is before it is cooked with all the grease. That is how a Quarter Pounder becomes a 1/16 Pounder! I am getting hungry I feel like a challenge, maybe a Egg McMuffin is in order or whatever they decide to toss in the bag in it's place. I love that place!!!

What is it that keeps us coming back? I eat there at least once a week and say "that is my last time" and before I know it I am craving whatever they toss in the bag again and again! I do not collect the Happy Meal Toys so it is not that, it is something in the grease, I mean the food.

McDonald's is one of the biggest users of Monosodium Glutamate (euphemized as flavor enhancer). I get enough hits without consuming that nerve poison. Therefore, I don't patronize McDonald's.

One of the main reasons McD’s is soo successful is because of their consistency. You can go to any McD’s anywhere in the country and know what to expect. This is what Ray Kroc’s vision was. http://www.buzzle.com/editorials/4-21-2005-68865.asp

My dads dog Moe will eat the bun and pickles off a McDonald's burger but not the patty. He will eat another dogs turd but not McDonald's meat. Good enough sign for me.............

| The bottom three are the direct result of the particular person working the window handing you the order. Consistency and accuracy isn't always achieved but a glancing check in the bag is a quick remedy. Drinks are hard to determine other than a quick sip. Fries are suppose to be good for only seven minutes after hitting the bin but Ray Kroc's directives aren't carved in stone with management as slow and very busy times are intermingled throughout the day. Quote:After several days of trying, we finally reached Gourmet Magazine, and found they would take feedback related to "MSG RISING," the piece of glutamate industry propaganda dressed up as a news release that appeared in the October issue. |
| An excellent point from the article's link, ASG. PR spin and propanda designed to look like news stories are getting pressure from the FCC, which states: "must clearly disclose to members of their audiences the nature, source and sponsorship of the material." Comcast Cable was fined five times in Sep. 2007. Getting worse than McDonalds.

| Yeah... Luckily we checked and returned to get it. The person in question didn't even apologise, just said "Oh" and gave the toy (a purple bunny tomacotchi... ). Matt, that's interesting! Too bad we cannot trust our guinea pigs; they would LOVE to get french fries or piece of El Maco Jr burger (what Timo had today) or cheese burger (what I had). Nobody has told them that guinea pigs cannot digest dairy! The funniest thing is that each time I'm eating junk (burgers, french fries or slice of pizza), I feel like watching my Super Size Me dvd! Barry, if you eat at McDonald's about once a week, I know just the place you'd love to eat here in Finland: Hesburger! It's Finnish fast food chain and before those McD gift certificates I had a cheeseburger about twice a year at Hesburger. Sanna

| Kevin, Timo once tried to check the take away bag right there in the counter, but he got some angry glances and a rude voice said: "Everything is right there!". That's why it's great to sneak behind the corner and check in there... But from now on when we'll use the next gift certificate, we're going to check what we got before going home. What comes to drinks, Timo always wants Fanta, so naturally he can tell streight away if he got coca-cola instead. Timo wanted me to begin this thread so that we can share the expriences we've had about visiting McDonald's. We've got nothing against it in general; just wondering. The next time: we'll try salmon salad. Sanna

I must admit, I'm addicted to the bacon egg and cheese bagel for breakfast. With extra bacon of course.

I love their french fries!! I get a craving for them now and then during my pregnancy. Now if they could only do me a meal that combines thier french fries with Burger King's burgers & Wendy's chicken, I'd be in heaven.

| Well, that's two more counts against them. Abrupt tone and... she should have offered to sell you an apple pie to go with that while you were still at the counter.

I've had Filet-O-Fish, the fish hamburger and it's yummy and I had absolutely nothing to complain about the mozzarella sticks. Ok, I do: 3 in a bag is just teasing... Kevin, our McD's don't sell apple pie anymore. They do have Dallas buns, chocolate muffins, donuts, milkshakes, ice cream, fruit and cake, but no apple pie. I'm not quite sure why, though. Sanna

| What's that??? Pegg, lucky you: I love bacon, but don't eat it that often. Bagels are another thing which our McD do not have at their menu... I'd sure love to try one! Timo said that he has been to McD at Bulgaria as well few years ago and got excellent service there. I've been to McD while in Spain, Italy, Sweden and America (NYC). Sanna

Paul loves that McShit and I DO NOT! I'm fussy I suppose but I just don't want pre chewed food. This summer however I found one of their salads I loved with a southwestern dressing and I really liked it so every time he had mc shit burgers I had a salad and I was quite happy. Went back in September and they had discontinued it. Story of my flaming life! GRRRR! He better find he likes something else awful quick 'cs me and MacD's are citing irreconcilable differences this time!
