Clusters are like Tornadoes

Cluster headaches are like tornadoes. They have their own "season". You don't know when they are gunna hit. You can feel them coming with the change in the temperature as you search for a place to hide from them. The tears you cry are out of anger, pain and frustration. In the midst of the storm you know no one can help you at this point. The banging is so loud its defining, even if it is your own head. They leave pain and devastation during and after each storm. The visual aftermath is pretty ugly. Every one in the surrounding area is affected. You don’t want to pick yourself up off the floor after you have made it through the storm It’s a fight to get the insurance company to pay a cent. You can only sit and wait for the next storm to brew, because its nature’s way and you can’t stop it. After the "season" is over you rebuild and wait for the next cycle. Unfortunately I happen to live in tornado alley. Although it doesn’t look much like Kansas, I live in New York.

Yes you are all welcome to come to Sydney, there is no tornado here. There are a few friendly clusterheads though

I love the analogy... it's so true. But I must confess when I first read it I scratched my head and wondered what you were "on"... I thought it said "Clusters are like TOMATOES"...... Time for an eye exam. with warm regards, Tony

The tornado analogy seems to work, but for the life of me, I can't figure out how clusters are like tomatoes. Maybe it's a failure of imagination, but I don't think so. I probably shouldn't spend any more time thinking about it. I don't believe it's good for me. Best, George
