Hilarious...but without the bloggers commentary underneath each fashion disaster it wouldn't have been half as funny. Good start to the day Pat...laughter I meant.

There was even a line of leisure suits by Joe Namath and golfer Johnny Miller back then. You could identify with classy athletes if there were any reservations about actually buying a suit. I THANK THE STARS ABOVE FOR THE RAMONES@!!@!!!!!!!!

Ok...Im putting myself out here...but I LOVE 70's dance music. KC and The Sunshine Band, Sylvester, etc...Chic. I like to go to places on "70's nite"...I think it's alot of fun. C'mon...someone else has got to like some of the classics.... The clothes are really, really bad...except the bell bottoms...I like the updated version of "low riders" with flared bottoms. The leisure suits??? Who the hell designed them? Not only are they terrible looking, they've got to be uncomfortable and make one pespire...funny Pat. Thanks. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kphP-YDwE8Y This will bring back memories for some of you...it has to be filmed at Studio 54...looked like some wild times...

I came this >< close to sending that link to some coworkers today. Just to take a walk down memory lane of course when Welcome Back Kotter and John Travolta were tops. Remember the satin Jacket phase? and the wave comb in your back pocket was hip? Pet rocks? The tighter the jeans the better? I mean for guys over 14 if your junk wasn't showing in the streach polyester you were a gonner. And girls, if you didn't have a pair of rainbow platform thong sandles that summer you were soooooooooo uncool? Learning the Electric Slide was mandatory in gym class. And the Hustle, and numerous other dances. No room for Square dancing and the Waltz this year... Oh that would be blastfamous! Disco was the new God!

| I had a neighbor who dressed like this in 2000 I guess the 70's lasted a while. (now I'm at home and I guess I can hide under my covers in bed instead of under my desk. Do the horors never cease?)

| The antithosis of the Disco era. What gave substance to the times. Real vs. synthetic music. I remember well the nights sleeping on the couch with the old FM station tuned to hear "Comfortably Numb" from the Wall Play before drifting off to sleep and waking the next morning to put on my clorine ladden swimsuite and get back to the diving boards to perfect my techniques. What a summer of dreams that was!

What a trip down memory lane!!! I was soooo into fashion then. I took fashion merchandising and design in high school and really thought I wanted to do fashion design in college. We really thought this stuff was HOT!!! Lisa still laughs at her Dad's light blue tux at our wedding. To quote a famous star, "Thanks for the memories!" Charlotte

In 1970, I looked about as ridiculous as a young boy could have. Thats right...red bell bottom pants and a paisley shirt. At least I had good sense of music...had older brothers. While top 40 in the mid 70's played crap like Afternoon Delight and Captain & Toenail....I bought James Gang (Joe Walsh) and Zeppelin and Yes albums. Didn't own a CB or a CW McCall album. No pet rock, no platform shoes, no mood ring or love beads. Had a reel to reel cause 8 tracks ate the damn tapes !!! Still, I looked like a white Huggy Bear
