Somewhere else, undoubtably. Taken in my yard today. Now all I have to do is screw up my courage and submit a photograph on the Canon forum contest for publication in the next POTN (Photography on the Net) book.

Watching the weather forecast last night predicting FLURRIES later in the week. That's SNOW flurries for those in warmer climates. Fall is here for sure.

Oh, those aren't going to be submitted. They're pretty, but they wouldn't stand a chance in hell of coming close to making the cut for the book. BTW, they do do smell very good. The pink is a David Austin English rose and the red is a Mr. Lincoln (my Mirandy bloomed a few weeks ago and so did Big Purple). In a few weeks, JImbo and I are going to be having a lot of fun. We're tearing out my rose beds (it just got too much for me to take care of~over 20 roses in raised beds~and expensive to boot, raising roses, especially tea roses, is not a cheap hobby) because thetimbers are eat up with termites. We're saving about 8 roses and doing away with the rest (some have gone back to their rootstock). I needed to transplant my irises and I forgot! No, the picture that will be entered into the Canon contest is this one (at least in the travel and landscapes division). and possibly this one (or one in this series)

Carolyn I love that misty pic as you know - it is one of my all time favourites of your pics and choosing favourites is no mean feat. I love Roses too - I would dearly love to have some and I will - one day I want climbing roses too and lots and lots of yellow ones. I love yellow roses. The nicest flower gift I ever had was a few years ago now, it was a huge basket full of every colour rose imaginable. There were well over 100 roses in it, it was huge. It was gorgeous but then again, one of the prettiest I ever saw was a gift I got when Barney was born of an arrangement of just blue, white and yellow iris'es - nothing else. It was stunning in its simplicity. Comes as no surprise we like so many of the same flowers though!
