This father won't see any of that money, but if the other states follow suit in passing a law that this can not, and will not be tolerated they will have no choice but to obey the laws of the U.S. that they apparently hate so much. Jail is not pleasant I hear. 
These 3 who are the defendants in this case won't be able to work anywhere w/o having their wages garnered, etc. even if their church is not affected, THEY personally will be.
I belong to the Patriot Guard as does Tanner and a few others here. We could not be happier.

Sadly, since the law limits how this would normally have been handled (ie. bunch of people putting a major ass whooping on these idiots) we end up with needing to have a governmental definition of common-f'ing sense.
Not everything is a slippery slope -- sometimes, as a result of the idiots, someone finally has to say, "that's it! no more!". I have a relative who goes to a church that is only a couple of degrees left of these idiots and out of a commitment to try and not rile up my wife's family any more than they are I let the e-mail missives go by, ignoring them as much as possible. But there will be a day when it goes too far, and I have to say "that's it, no more!".
Limits exist, whether there are laws or not.

Sorry, that's not a valid argument. You can't say 'beyond the emotions of the case' when the case is all about the emotional pain and suffering that those nut jobs inflicted on the family.
Look, nobody is saying they don't have the right to say what they say. No kind of speech is being 'banned' here. What the court is saying is people have to be responsible for what they say. That's a whole different thing. The government didn't press charges, the family did. The government isn't banning anything or punishing anybody... the family sued and won on the merits of their case. Can you not see how that has *nothing* to do with free speech?
This is an example of the system actually working well.
The church members will now have to consider the fact that even though they have the right to free speech, they don't have the right to maliciously cause pain and suffering. TWO DIFFERENT ISSUES.
