Guiseppi is my hero

Today is my first day off after 3 long weeks working flat out. I have planned to have a real lazy day lounging around doing nothing but surfing the Net and chatting to friends. The kids are at school so I have the whole morning to myself.
I looked outside and saw a grey sky with clouds full of rain water hovering, the wind is cool and the air is so fresh.
Suddenly all I could think of is Guiseppi. How he would be right now working so hard fighting off the fire. How he could be feeling with all the heat around him. How he may not be able to even have a few minutes break. How he is risking his life this moment to save other lives and their belongings...
Guiseppi,
I have read and heard about other heroes. However, you are the first hero I happen to know personally. You are a true hero yet you are of real blood and flesh just like me.
I would like to let you know that I salute what you are doing right now. I will spend the day praying for your health and your safety. I look forwards to see you back here again soon.
Thank you and I also thank your family for all the sacrifice you all have made, from the bottom of my heart.
You are my hero !

Your hero is at it again. He's been working the past 3 days on the San Diego fires. He's exhausted but enthusiastic at the same time. I'm sure he'll have plenty of stories for the next gathering, maybe even a few pictures. We are safe, wanted you all to know that. Our house was very close to evacuation lines, but a good distance from fires. Of course it's not over til it's over, and it's not over yet.
