So-Cal is burning!

The Santa Anas are back and we're paying for it! 7 fires in my county right now, all out of control. At least 1 fatality, a bunch of fire fighters already burned pretty bad and we're losing houses. They're dressing all of us deputies up as firemen and shipping us out today! I'll try and post some pictures but I suspect I won't be back on a computer till late Tuesday or Wednesday! This is the ONLY time of the year So-Cal isn't the greatest place to live! Send some COOLING vibes our way.

Next week I will be in San Diego for three days at MCRD for my sons graduation from Marine Corps boot camp. I hope we don't get lost into a fire zone or that MCRD isn't effected. I will be praying for the area that the fireman are able to get things under control quickly and saftely. Thank you for your service to help out with this disaster Guiseppi.

SAN DIEGO -- With fire spreading quickly westward, San Diego County officials ordered the evacuation of a huge area east of Interstate 15 between Del Dios Highway and Highway 56 early Mon"This is the worst fire this county has ever seen -- worse than the Cedar Fire [of 2003]," Sheriff Bill Kolender said.
At a news conference shortly after 6 a.m., officials said fires had spread dramatically overnight, whipped by fierce Santa Ana winds. They said fire had jumped Interstate 15 at Lake Hodges and was burning in parts of Rancho Bernardo. Because of the explosive and unpredictable nature of the blazes, all residents living between Interstate 15 and Interstate 5 from Del Dios Highway in the north to Highway 56 in the south were told to begin evacuating.
"This fire is moving very quickly," San Diego Mayor Jerry Sanders said. "Watch TV, listen to the radio and have your car prepared to leave."
Among the communities in the evacuation area are Rancho Sante Fe, Carmel Highlands, Rancho Bernardo, Del Mar Heights and Fairbanks Ranch and parts of Rancho Penasquitos.
Officials have opened Qualcomm Stadium in Mission Valley to handle the large number of evacuees.
Sanders asked everyone in San Diego County to minimize the use of cell phones to leave the airways free for the use of emergency personnel.day.

Hi Neighbor,
Thinking about you today. I heard there was just an evacuation in your neck of the woods. Please be safe! My company was evacuated at 6:30 this morning, so I'm at home today. I love living in San Diego, but boy these fires can be scary, especially recently. My house is in a safe area for now. Please let us know you're okay Joe.

hey guys in San Diego, how far is Ladera ranch from any fire areas? My cousin lives there and so my 3 little nieces and I could not get a hold of them on the phone...
