I agree. We're all going to hell in a hand-basket. Telling people to vote in elections because of this instead of being apathetic isn't going to change this nonsense at all.
I live 300 miles north of San Fransisco and it was in todays local paper. Tomorrow there will be letters to the editors on 4 pages and after that.... there will be nothing. And the immorality of America continues to grow. No one does anything about it. 11 yr. olds will get birth control and some will die and our tax dollars will pay for all of this.
I think I will move to Arizona and back Joe (the prisoners worst nightmare) for President.

This type of thinking is absolutely RIDICULOUS !!!!!
Instead of encouraging behavior that is harmful to not just the addict, but their family, your family and mine...they should spend the money on treatment programs to help addicts get & stay clean.
I don't wish addicts to get AIDS or overdose or even die, but they made their bed...why the hell should they be encouraged to continue such abhorrent behavior!?!?!?!?
It's beyond sad, it is criminal !!!

It is important to remember that there are indeed 65 places like this in 27 different countries and that this thing......should it ever come to pass take forever start.
I haven't been to San Francisco sine 1979. It was fun then too but I was voting Republican back then. Sigh.

Actually, that was a good thing, in retrospect. I went on the BET site and read the responses that talked about these 2 boys attending the awards ceremony. A majority of the posters are NOT happy about this.
Some quotes from posters there.
Lakeisha posts-"If anything they should be humbled and go home and not be trying to get celebrity status off a tragedy".
Ryanne-"So I this is what I was protesting for! So that later you could show up at the BET awards and STYLE & PROFILE??? What you all need to be doing is keeping a low profile for your upcoming cases, do you really think this makes you look good on your upcoming court dates. Man I tell you, Jesus please help our youth of today!".
Tyrone-"THIS WHAT ALL MY DONATIONS WENT FOR???!!!
LOCK THESE MUTHAS UP!!!!!!!!!!".
Kanny-"I am appauled at the behavior of these two young men. Then another one of the jenna six was supposedly taking pictures with lots of cash on myspace. What is wrong with that picture as well? Its a disgrace to us as a people the behavior that is encouraged and celebrated.".
Jennifer-"I can’t believe all the people that came down to Jena and Alexandria to march for these boys and they basically have slapped us all in the face and made us look like a complete a**. They can find somebody else to march for them cause I will not be there the next time, and whoever invited them to this should be slapped. And it goes on and on in that vein. There were some who defended the boys, but not many.
