Another Chapter.......

We have secured permanent housing and moving day approaches.....soon......the new digs are right on a golf course in a neigborhood I grew up in. The kids and I are very excited.....wow....."A" markes the spot.
God has been so good to us I am overwhelmed by the generosity and kindness we have been shown. We are starting from scratch as some of you know and will be furnishing a 3 bedroom apartment with very little left from the old house most of which I lost. My current caseworker presented me with a list of items that we may need room by room and I was hoping some of you would review it and see if anything is missing (besides a boatload of cash  ). It looks like all the basics are there and the local charities are all pitching in to help fill this list.....as I said I am overwhelmed by goodness and gratitude.
Again I must thank you guys for hanging in there with us, it looks we are just about "normal" again. Job, car, housing and NO headaches right now....God is SO good!
Can I get a FUKENH!!

Hey Mark! Glad things are looking up for you and your family.
From looking at your list, in the Kitchen, you want to make sure you have a can opener of some type. I'm not sure if that fits in the silverware or cooking utensils category  but I know it can be a bi+ch (not to mention dangerous) trying to open cans with a knife.

I've added some idea's, some might be over the top but they are things you will need sooner rather than later so I thought nothing ventured nothing gained!!
In all rooms
curtains,
rugs of some sort (its coming up to winter and floors are cold on little feet!)
Kitchen
I don't know if these would be included in the apartment or not but stove, fridge, microwave, kettle, coffee maker, toaster
Living room/bedroom
Bookcase
Storage for toys/games. (Like a chest or cupboard)

Please google "freecycle" and see if there is a chapter in your area.
Long story short, it's like Craigslist but FREE.
For instance, I post I am looking for bowling balls and whoever on the list has one to get rid of contacts me via email and I go pick them up. Got 13 this way!
I post I am cleaning out my basement and have a desk and a chair to get rid of. People contact me via email and then they come to pick up.
It's worth a try and I've found the people who participate very kind. My only caveat is don't ask for rooms full of furniture or cars . . people get annoyed with that. Start small and see what comes.
