"Mom and Dad" as well as "husband and wife" have been banned from California schools under a bill signed by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, who with his signature also ordered public schools to allow boys to use girls restrooms and locker rooms, and vice versa, if they choose. "We are shocked and appalled that the governor has blatantly attacked traditional family values in California," said Karen England, executive director of Capitol Resource Institute. http://worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=58130

Did you know that a 7th grade girl can get expelled for bringing an aspirin to school, yet she can tell the councilor there that she is pregnant and afraid of her dad, the school will transport her to an abortion clinic and back to school without the parents knowledge. Those people lost their mind a long time ago.

Why is it this weird stuff almost always crops up on the left coast? In San Fran they really come up with some of the most restrictive things and yet they proclaim to be open minded.....I think their brains fell out. -P.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Companies_based_in_California Companies that have home bases in California. If you use their products, write them and tell them that you will not buy their product until they A.) come out publically and denounce the law, or B.) move out of the state. Some are a little tough (AMD and Intel are both there). Because we (out-of-state) can't make them change their laws, we can affect them in their economy (which is huge). I didn't see anything on vegtables, but that may be I don't reconize the names. My 1.38 cents Mike

How ridiculous. Imagine your daughter is in first grade, playing outside on recess, and she falls off the monkey bars and scrapes her knee. She starts crying because it hurts, and says "I want my Mommy". Then she gets sent to the principal's office for 'hate crimes against kids with mommys'.

Would send an effective message to OUR governors by writing them and telling them that if they try to pull this crap in our states, he/she, and ANYONE they support will lose our votes. The first time I get called to a school to arrest jonny for admitting to having both a "mommy" and a "daddy"....I may just have to turn in my badge. Sigh....... A very confused and sad Guiseppi

Man, this topic pisses me off. I don't see harm in a kid saying 'my mom', or 'my dad'. Does this mean I won't get my annual art project geared toward Father's Day? Kids need to learn to be PC, so the term 'Daddy' has been replaced by 'my sexual identity challenged transgendered post-op gay parent who used to be a woman but is now a man'.......of course, we need to change that new term because it is discriminatory against those who have not yet had their operation.

OMFGoddess. ARNOLD is not using what is left of his braincells (the steriods took a toll). I am sure that the girls would love to have Billy and Jonny use the girls locker room. Hell it would have been good to have someone with more testosterone in mine then my PE teacher. How many kids are going to get thier asses kicked because this is allowed. In HS there where times that I used the boys restrooms, but that was because my HS was in the hood and the principle decided that it was cheaper to paint the girls rooms black so he did not have to cover the graffitti. An the lights where usually out cause the kids dealing in them did not want to be seen easily. So I had a few guys that wher eon the foot ball team clear the bathroom for me and stand outside while I was in there. It was great to have big friends. Also, as it is legal to be married while you are still in HS, what is the girl supposed to call her husband? One of my good friends in HS got married in the summer between our junior and senior years. Her "f Toy"? How will they be able to tell apart the ones that are married and not just a very *friendly* person?

| No you are write. The law has to be approved my the state senate and house. Then it oges to the gov desk to approve or veto. The thing that seems to have pissed people off in the report is that he vetod one like this before. I can understand part of it. But I dont think that it is clear enough to relaly work. If a male person (not going to get into the whole what makes a kids a child verses adult, because that has nada to do with age, but mentally) for example decides that they more closely identify with being a female and choces to openly take on that identity, then that person should be allowed to do that. And if the peers at school want to vote him as homecoming queen then that is up to the kids that are voting. But I dont see it really being that clear and understandable. I dont want my daughter to get in trouble because she is whispering in the corner that she needs to call her mom to see if they can slend the night.

Sounds to me like it's more people who lack the testicular fortitude to call things what they are. How is calling those who ARE your mom and dad, "mom and dad" wrong? It's what they are! How is calling a Christmas tree a "Christmas tree" wrong, if that's what it IS?? If you enjoy celebrating the holiday, but you aren't Christian, then call it whatever you want.... Just don't tell me what I HAVE to call it! If I want to call it a Blue Spruce, or a Douglas Fir, then I will, but it's not reasonable for me to ask the rest of you to do so. I just get so sick of hearing the minority overruling the majority in this country. Yes, the minority groups have rights, but when they are allowed to let their voice overpower the rest of America, then something has gone terribly wrong. I'd like to see the heads of local, state, and federal gov. be gotten rid of. Let us vote on all isues with a majority rule. If the majority want to have "In God we trust" removed from our currency, then so be it. Don't do it just because a couple of people are trying to make a point about their own religious beliefs! Sorry.... Just hate the way society has let the views of the few become more important than the views of the rest of us. "We the people" has become "that guy there". Adam

I try to stay out of political threads. I want not to offend good people with facts that may not fit their beliefs. It can get pretty hairy to interject fact into and and to counteract the innuendo. Trust me I've fought that stance for 13 years now. It's sometimes so easy to get swayed by the political emotion campaign.
