The Empty Suits are no more. Call it a falling out, call it a difference of opinion on direction, call it whatever you want. But it's cool. This was the first band I participated in over 15 years, and the first one for which I acted as co-founder since middle school. It was a fun two-and-a-half year run, and it got me playing again. For that I am grateful.

I have a few other irons in the fire, so stay tuned as to what I'm up to musically.

Brew, you handle it well and look back in a good fashion.
As long as I've known friends in bands it has been happening, you've mentions some reasons in the fold of why, too.  Even as age advances, life obligations take on priorities different than before.  Personally, "it was fun while it was fun" has been said by myself of periods in life that ended, and in fact even wanted a tattoo saying "fun 'til it's done".  Hell, even the Beatles broke up.  Smiley

Good stuff, good times, for great causes -- you've got a lot of great accomplishment and memories there.  Wink

Congratulations on the band history you've been a part of and the amazing revival together again.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. I'm actually the one who initiated it. I announced I was leaving, and instead of forming plans to look for a new bass player, within 12 hours the band was history.

Carol, while it's a nice sentiment, I've never heard of a band that performs with more than one bass player. Except Spinal Tap, and that was just for one song, Big Bottom:

Big bottom, big bottom,
Talk about mud flaps, my girl's got 'em.
Big bottom, drive me out of my mind.
How can I leave this behind?

What better time to make changes then!!!!  Why not two bass players - throw in a pedal steel guitar and just go Country! Grin

Always at a crossroad, always having to choose, regardless of the choices you find yourself along the journey.

Change is good... not often easy but when the growing pains stop we know that we are truely dead.

You Bill, are far from dead and have (hopefully) a long and ever changing journey ahead of you. It's all good.

with warm regards,
Tony

Dell was one of the characters in That Thing You Do - the older, wiser jazz guy giving out advice to the young up-and-comers in the pop music world. Great movie - rent it if you can.

Sorry to hear about the band....Brian is actually trying to get into a different band since his isn't playing all that much anymore....maybe he should be an empty suit...but he won't move, so maybe they could come to St. Louis... ha ha!

Also, the guy on your right looks like Jon Lovitz in that picture.  Anybody else see it?

Also, I loved That Thing You Do too!  Such a good movie!

That's not Jon Lovitz. That's Tommy Flanaygin. He's married to Morgan Fairchild - whom he's seen naked. Yeah, that's the ticket.
