Good Neighbors...

Ya'll have been talking about BAD neighbors, but I'm gonna tell ya'll about a GOOD neighbor.... Buttons moved across the creek a few months ago - bought an old house that was in bad shape and has whipped it back to a showplace in no time flat. Now she's working on my house. About got it done too. This woman has more energy than anyone I've seen (except my friend Carolyn who lives in Houston). She just can't sit still. She sees something that needs to be done (oh heck, I'd eventurally get around to it!) and she just does it. My light fixtures don't even had "bugs" in them anymore - she was drinking tea up here one day and the next thing I know she's taking down the light fixtures and washing them. But the past week or so (I sold my house in Shreveport and am moving the rest of my "JUNQUE" up here and have to either get rid of it or find a place for it) she's worked my rear off. But most of my stuff has a place or is disposed of. Now, my idea of deorating is sticking a picture of grampaw on the wall - but not Button. She actually has some taste and knows how to decorate where it looks "nice". You know - colors match and everything. I got up this morning and wondered who's house I was in. It really looks great. If this keeps up........ Anyhow, what I'm getting at is -- this woman (and I really don't know her that well) has just taken me over as a project and is so sweet (well, ok she's as bossy as I am) and has been a great neighbor. Oh, don't think like that -- it's not all one sided -- I do things for her also. But the point is that's how neighbors should be - helping each other. I"ve been telling her about my clusterbuds on ch.com and she thinks you're all a bunch of nutz. She has migraines and can't imagine having "fun" with migrainers. Anyhow, I just thought I'd post something good on here and let ya'll know there are some "good" folks left out there and not just people out to get to ya. Hugs BD

Thanks for sharing Barb. It's nice to hear people live next to folks they actually like. Sounds like you got a winner. -Dennis-

Sounds to me like one of those confidence artist tricksters. Gains your confidence and one day when your back is turned, your dishes are washed, a basketful of clean laundry all neatly folded, your spice rack alphabetized, might even move a sofa to vacuum behind it. I'd keep an eye on her, they're of a rare type that can spontaneously act upon any opportunity. Even during an innocent lemon tea setting, next thing you know there's a clutch of flowers she picked on the trek across the creek in a little vase with water on the table to brighten your day. You have that attractive personality Barb that brings people like this into your life and they happily stick around. But I know you're a smart enough woman to get her back in kind for all she may plot. Paybacks are a bitch and someday soon she's gonna learn she's met her match. I know how much you've been involved with lately, nice this neighborly friendship has been a big part too Barb.
