Dr Phil would not last two hours in my shop doing what I do. Its back breaking work and I have five buldging discs in my back.
Maybe im just envious, but 30 million just for showing up is beyond my reality.
Sorry, I watched TV for five minutes today which I never do and this set me off!

Actually I went to school for welding but found out that welding in the summer is really, really, really hot......LOL
And when welding (Tig) you cant have a big fan blowing on you because it blows the gas away.
Thats why I now polish (Huge fan), my partners say I was born to polish metal. They are two old dudes that have 75 years combined experience in what we do.
Where the fuck is my 30 mil?.....LOL

True for the real world but TV-wise the addition of continually instilled applause makes whatever they say seem above our conscious range or something because it's infectuous (sp?) keeps viewers. Think of watching without it.
Like the timed canned-laughter on comedies after dumb jokes and comebacks that make them seem funny but they need the false laughing to help it along. More viewers, more money.
I kind of liked M.A.S.H. for the reason they didn't use canned laughter or only very slightly heard. It didn't need it, pretty well researched and witty, ran a long time without needing it.
p.s. Judge Judy doesn't have it either but administers justice boldly and aggressively and sees through crap stories, a lot of people like to see that. Well prepared.

Judge Judy went to Law school, became an attorney and then a real judge for decades and THEN went on to T.V. Attorneys and judges get a lot of money because of their education and expertise and so on...but 30 million is way more than she's worth.
Same thing for Dr. "how's that working for you" Phil.

Agree about Judge Judy and education of Dr. Phil, who appears to solve problems, on TV, in one hour. I kind of wonder about the follow up after a year or so though. People will say a lot on TV to get by when put on the spot.

Hmmm. I agree Paul, but...
For the last 16 years I have supported myself cleaning other peoples toilets, shower stalls, windows, floors and ceiling fans making about 65.00 for each house I did. I should have asked Judge Judy, Dr. Phil and others if I could clean THEIR houses. I could still look myself in the mirror each day, but I'd probably be getting 3 or 4 hundred for the job, instead of 65.
Alchemy...no response to the toilet cleaning is necessary.

I will agree to a point, however, the politicians do not dance to the tune of capitalism....who else can vote themselves a raise for doing nothing and then pass a law making it illegal to refuse the raise?

Absolutely. I would like to think that there is something better but so far it ain't showed up.
Greed works but I like to hope that there are some more Warren Buffet types in the mix.
I watched Dr. Phil a couple of times and got stuck having to listen to him for a week when staying with my retired mental health worker nurse relatives. I'm sorry, but it gets very tiresome, very fast.
Judge Judy is intolerable but sells a lot of roll on headache medicine to people that can least afford it. I don't want to know the peope that never miss her show.
