My (step) daughter, Jaclyn, just gave birth to a healthy 7lb baby boy. I just went up to see them in the hospital. They're both doing great. (She's a bit tired and sore though). They get to leave in a day or two.

If this is your first grandchild there are some rules of engagement that you need to know:
1. there is no such thing as "spoiling" grandkids-your job is to give them everything they want
2. especially things you didn't let your own kids have like
3. candy at any time day or night, bath-free days (or weeks)
4. when you do the pinata for the birthdays-don not put toys in it-fill it to the top with sugar!!!!

When I'll have kids, I'll make sure that my mother will never see this list!  And I'll tell her that I'm feeding my kid candy, so she'll give him/her just berries and fruits and vegetables...
