That's a difficult question. I honestly wouldn't have known the drawings began as they did...
I remember the camel for camel cigarettes. I had a friend that worked for that company in advertising, and she pointed out to me that the camels face was uh....phallic. It's those subconscious things...like in the days in drive in moves when they flashed images quickly...like soda, hot dogs....to trigger wanting food while showing other things and you weren't consciously aware...I know that is no longer allowed..
Interesting though.
