Wedding was perfect - almost

The national weather service called for 60% chance of scattered thunderstorms for the entire wedding weekend.  Well, it did that, but only in the mornings.

Friday morning, when we had rehearsal, it poured, then stopped midway, so we did get to do a couple of walkthroughs (ceremony was outside on an observation deck over the Cape Fear River).  Rehearsal worked!

Wedding day - torrential rains, thunder, lightening in the morning.  We had to be at the wedding venue at 11:00 AM to set up chairs outside, decorate, etc.  We roll in at 11:15, and the entire town is without power!

My wonderful daughter, the bride,  said, as we are driving in to town, "I prayed for no rain, but I guess I forgot to mention no power outage".

Bride and bridesmaids are trying to get dressed, makeup, hair, with no blow dryers, curling irons, no light.  Finally They got the power on 45 minutes before the ceremony.   The caterer was going nuts, I was going nuts.  But, it was now on.  Apparently, God knew Christine's prayers even though she wasn't specific.

Skys cleared, bright blue, no clouds, beautiful setting, beautiful weather, and the bride was glorious.  When we were all lining up to walk out for the ceremony, Chris, the bride was alone in the bride's dressing room.  I walked Tarey, my husband in so they could get ready to "make the walk".  Tarey took his first look at his gorgeous daughter and literally could not breathe.  Then, they both burst into tears.  I had to leave the room.

It was gorgeous.

Pictures will be coming as soon as I can upload them from our camera.  I can't wait to see the professional photogs pics.  They are going to be awesome!

Only problem was that disc jockey was 2 hours late.  Guess he doesn't get paid his balance due from Mommy (me).

Rain brings luck! I'm glad that the sky cleared for the wedding, though. And, yes, I can't wait to see the pics. I love watching wedding pics. Smiley
