Slow news day....

This one about bottoms out the ladder in news. The burning question of the day is: (Now sit down on this one) Is it alright for a black man to call a black woman a "bitch" and not a white man to do the same? I swear - for a solid hour this was a top news story with the Rev Sharpton talking (not saying anything, but talking just the same - I saw his lips moving). Seems some ball player did this and now it's a top news story. I'm not sure who to blame this one on -- the news media or the intelect of the people who listen to this crap (ok so I'm including myself in that last group, but I just have the news on for noise - I was really working - just stopped when this news flash came thru). I came real close to calling in and telling them that Bitch stood for Barb In Total Control Here and it was NOT a bad thing! What the hell is the big thing? Is there nothing else to talk about -- there are a FEW problems in the world today - if anyone would notice... (or they could call me -- I'd give them an hour's worth of something to talk about...) Hugs BD

What about what a black man calls a white woman, or a white woman calls a black man? Gotta be PC and all... The media sucks. And who gives a rats patootie anyway? Surely the media could find some real news to report. edited for clarity

Slow "news" day indeed. Too bad there wasn't another Loch Ness Monster sighting. Then maybe we could have gotten some "science" news--as well as this important and controversial point of etiquette to ponder. Best, George

When the Reverend's talking, it's always a slow news day.

Any time someone who is in the public eye says or does something someone might find offensive they should expect to get heat. The reverend can blow wind all he wants but until everyone stops listening he will continue. The guy is just another self proclaimed righter of wrongs, a verbal vigilante one might say. Some day he might see he has caused more wrong than he has helped but until then he will continue on his self destructive path. Can I get an AMEN! Mike

Well, back in here the main news stories (at online newspaper websites) are: Tango king (that's one of the biggest annual contests in here) regrests about kicking his pal's wife unconcious, people are Facebook website addicts and the ex-wife of our most famous swimmer is publishing a relationship book based on true experiences (hers and her pals') titled Pricess and Half of the Kingdom. It's a slooooow news day in here, too. Barb, I saw that one of my local stores have buttons with the text B.I.T.C.H = Babe In Total Control Here in stock. Sanna

Fortunately, I missed the Rev. He is funny for about a minute though. I can't say I'm up on this particular flap. Even I have more to do. Spending all that time on this and now O. J. is what makes careers for cable news anchors and channels. It's easier and cheaper to pound us over the head each time O. J. burps than to chase real news. It's exactly like the movie, "Network," in which the character: Howard Beal, warned that God forbid if TV is owned by big conglomarates because who knows what kind of shit will be passed off as news or entertainment. All things come to pass and here we are with cable "news" passing off this shit, tours through the country prison system and car chases as news and entertainment. It's incredibly cheap and sells Viagra and restless leg medicine like crazy. I'm done with cable news until the O. J. thing is over. My hope is that he offs himself. That way we'll have only to listen to talking heads for a week or less. I'm gonna follow this in the paper. I'm not going to let this creep take up any more of my time. Charlie zzzzzzzz
