Well, Friday we drove down to stay with a friend in NYC and we went into Manhattan Sat. morning. We went to Ground Zero and toured around then headed over to South Side Seaport where we met up with Pep. (Patty). Since LeLimey didn't want to see the body exhibit, I pawned her off on Pep. for a couple of hours.  We met back up with the giggle twins and grabbed some lunch. (I heard Pep. threw LeLimie in the East River but the fish threw her back) 
Pep. had a previous commitment so we said our good buys and went on to raise hell in the City. We walked over to the Statin Island Ferry and took the fery ride to Statin Island and back. (I tried to toss The witch into NY Harbor but again, the fish tossed her back  ) We were treated to some beautiful weather and sun with great views of lower Manhattan, Joisey, Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island.
After the ferry, we took the subway up to Little Italy for the San Jenero (sp?) festival where we plodded the entire length of the festival looking at and smelling all the food. ( I gaind 12 lbs just inhaling!) Even with a million people shoulder to shoulder I could not ditch LeLimie!) We did a quick trip through China Town and then headed to Times Square to see the pretty lights. (I had a plan to pimp LeLimey in Times Square but was bummed to find they don't take to that sort of thing there anymore  ) Still determined to ditch the witch, we headed over to Grand Central Station. Once again they cleaned the place up and there were no bums to pawn her off on.  I just can't win
Anyway, Helen and I got our legs walked off, saw many wonderful sights with the enjoyment of a beautiful fall NY day! She really had a great time and will post pics. as soon as we up load them.

It wasn't me that played tour guid. My friend that lives down in Nassau did. He is filled with all sorts of facts about NYC which makes the tour much, much more interesting. Helen really got the A-1 tour!
The phrase, "the 23-skedew" came about as a result of the first "steel highrise" the Flat Iron Building on 23 street. It funneled the wind so that it blew up the ladies skirts and "Gents" would hang out at the corner waiting to catch a glimps of the ladies legs. It got so bad that the city stationed cops there to move the men along. Hence the term "he was given the 23 skedew"

Don't shoot the messenger, the witch snapped the pics. She is having technical difficulties uploading the pics so she can post them. The t/d are called SLOW UPLOAD WITH BIG PICS! Be patient! I'll help resize them so they fit up to the satellite
