Karl Marx perhaps? Particularly the first one. (1) "We're going to take things away from you on behalf of the common good." (2) "It's time for a new beginning, for an end to government of the few, by the few, and for the few ... And to replace it with shared responsibility for shared prosperity." (3)"(We) ... can't just let business as usual go on, and that means something has to be taken away from some people." (4) "We have to build a political consensus and that requires people to give up a little bit of their own turf in order to create this common ground." (5) "I certainly think the free-market has failed." (6) "I think it's time to send a clear message to what has become the most profitable sector in (the) entire economy that they are being watched

Not a Hillary fan or democrat in any sense, but even less a fan of folks who post out-of-context political quotes, Particularly the first one. We're going to take things away from you on behalf of the common good. She was telling a group of democratic millionaires that they need to give up GWB's 'tax cuts for the wealthy'. Headlining an appearance with other Democratic women senators on behalf of Sen. Barbara Boxer, who is up for re-election this year, Hillary Clinton told several hundred supporters – some of whom had ponied up as much as $10,000 to attend – to expect to lose some of the tax cuts passed by President Bush if Democrats win the White House and control of Congress. Politics sucks, but not nearly as much as folks who post out of context political quotes. We shall assume the remainder of your quotes are as poorly researched as the first.

| Too bad *you* didn't finish the research that I supposedly hadn't done at all. First quote (speech was given at a Democratic fun raiser). "Many of you are well enough of that...the tax cuts may have helped you (in ref. to the Rep. tax cuts), "Sen. Clinton said. "We're saying that for America to get back on track, we're probably going to cut that short and not give it to you. We're going to take things away from you on behalf of the common good. The rest are taken somewhat out of context. I took it from another site where the poster said that they had checked it out on snopes. Next time, rather than being an ass, please give me the correct information and I'll be glad to back up and apologize. *I* suck? You assume? That word is not quite applicable here, because you didn't make an *ass* out of u and me, you kept that title for yourself. 'darlin-who will no longer make ANY POSTS on this damned board.

You would like me to do your fucking homework for you when you post political shit-stirring 'forward this to 100 friends' crap? Nah. Blow me. Do your own research before you post such inane bullshit. on Sep 10th, 2007, 3:35pm, deltadarlin wrote: 'darlin-who will no longer make ANY POSTS on this damned board. |

Wow ! That did start off out of context. I couldn't believe that Mrs. Bill Clinton would've said those things. And, she was compared to the likes of Karl Marx ?? I guess we know who doesn't like her. Did someone just try to fool me ?? WTF ?? UNsolved

You crack me up Fu. Not to involve myself in any political vein, but just to say, some people chose the road they do and it's not until their life's work is assessed, long after their time, that regard is more favorable for just doing a good job. Robert LaFollette (1855-1925) His political philosophies being way out of step with the extremely conservative Republican Party of the 1920s, he left it in 1924 to start the League for Progressive Political Action. Socialists, labor, and farmers supported his 1924 presidential candidacy, but he lost decisively and died a senator. After the McCarthyism of the 1950s died down, Senate members polled in the late 1950s felt comfortable enough to rank LaFollette as one of the five greatest senators in U.S. history. http://www.howhist.com/fraser/1920'smagazineideas/1920s,News-1.html

| Oh gee, I hate to really stir things up BUT in DEFENSE of Delta -- I don't see a damn thing in HER quotes where it mentions Hillary at all..... so Lobster, I think you're a little out of line blasting her for something she didn't even do. Now Lobster, if you want to correct the quotes and say WHO said them that's fine - but don't start reading into something that wasn't said. Even I know that's not politically correct. Me, I don't listen to much of what politicians say anymore cause most of them lie anyhow. I'll wait till closer to the elections (like a year from now) and listen and see if they're saying anything worth while and then decide if I believe anything any of them are saying and how they've voted and what they've done the past year or so. Right now they say something today and spend the next month either denying they said it or trying to explain that they didn't mean it. Now get back to your arguing, but don't people names.... Hugs BD

Along with Ray and a few others I am going to stick up for Delta here and say something. I don't ever ever ever, enter political threads and I have no idea if she took something out of context or not. But Rock you were really mean and nasty about it and I think that even if you were 100% correct...you owe her an apology for the meanness. Delta has been an important part of all of us for a little while now. Her posts have even inspired me a few times...She is intelligent, and she cares a lot.

| Not that anyone gives a rats patootie, Linda, but I agree with what you said in the above quote. However, the posters are adults, and I'm sure they can handle what they choose to post to one another without having someone calling for apologies for meanness. Otherwise, some people would be apologizing every day. And I don't see these people being called out to make apologies.

It's one thing to be disputed, that I don't have a problem with. I wouldn't even have a problem being told I was wrong and then told why. I have NEVER attacked a *person* on this board and would not do it. I might attack a statement that was made, but never the person that made it.

In any event, it beats anything George Bush has said. At least she doesn't try to shred the Constitution or stumble over himself in every speech. And....he's the one that said he wants to make as much money as Clinton and Poppy, speaking for a living. Can't wait. Charlie

Its funny how Bush Jr borrows the money to pay for expenses and people call him conservative. Clinton is talking about raising taxes on the rich to pay for expenses, and she is being called a communist. Its the dumbing down of America. People must not even know what 'liberal' or 'conservative' mean. Even taking Clinton's comments out of context, she still makes more sense than Bush Jr's comments in context. Bush Jr hasn't even thought about raising revenue enough to cover his 4 trillion worth of borrowing.
