What do I do when the docs in questions have decided to instituted a criminal investigaton against me becase of a pain management program I have endured forthe last 2 years - and suddendy out of nowhere they have fabricated a whole serious of false accusations against me to the tune of me attempting to acquire to medicatons to the tune or $14k a MONTH to feed an 'addiction' and they are levying hhs investigations and legal procedings against me and won't listen to a word I say despite NO evidence and no recourse.
It would seem that I have gone to multiple sources to procur narcortics to the extent of going to the VA hospitalin Lincoln to gain narcotics - a place I've NEVER BEEN - I've never stepped foot in Lincoln NE!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm in a rock and a hardplace and have no way to know what the fuck isgoing on. They flat out refused to allow us a copy of the document butthey let Clark read it.
I'm lost - I have no idea what to turnto next.
Well I do, I suspect a bullet to the brain (if I had a gun) or simply jumping in front of a bus orworse. I am at the end of my rope and the knot has unraveled.
Quantity of life means nothing withoutquality.
Any help or info is appreciated
I'm absolutely stunned.

You need to get an attorney ASAP and not say anything to anyone about the charges against you. Often innocent people who try to explain themselves to those accusing them wind up having their statements twisted in favor of prosecutors. Despite our concept that you are innocent until proven guilty, in reality once you are charged with a crime you are guilty until proven innocent-at least in the French system of law this is the way things are, they're honest about it. Get a lawyer! Don't discuss the case with ANYONE but your lawyer-remember, ANYTHING that you say can and will be used against you. So sorry for your problems-you don't need this.

That was good advice given by Big Ouch...really, in this case, a lawyer is needed...and really don't share this with people that wouldnt understand...I know you're not doing anything out of line...to people unfamiliar with pain management...including Drs.....they make a HUGE deal over it. A pain management Dr. wouldn't even blink...
You're going to be ok..you're just overwhelmed...and frightened. Breathe...take it easy. Just CALMLY get your records together...talk to prescibring Dr's...just take it easy...I understand what you're feeling.

Get a lawyer STAT! And a good one! Sue back for the harrassment and mental anguish!
And as much as inquiring minds want to know -- stay off the board with it... pms are ok...I think -- do what your lawyer says.

Get with a lawyer .... take someone with you . Make notes before going that you can refer to .. Make a list of questions.... write down lawyers answers..... Have your friend record answers also and allow this person to ask any questions they may think of .... Stress may shadow up your visit and make it hard to focus..... therefore a friend there will help ..... Do get a lawyer, and do not pm anyone here any details. Anything submitted here on the board, or via PM can be subpoenaed.
They can also pull your phone records, but short of bugging your phone, can't say anything there.

Well as it stands, we went to the location in question and requested a copy of the hand written note, UNSIGNED, the made the allegations. They were 'surprising' unable to procure the document even though Clark read it. They flat out REFUSED to give us a copy.
We went to the chief of staff and they are looking into it.
We then went to the docs office and let thim in on it. The absurd thing is that we learned it $47k worth of narcotics,and that of course, Clark is active duty and CAN'T use the va hospital. I've never gone to any but ONE ER when themigraines kicked off. they have all my records, they know my diagnosis.
I can't afford a lawyer. All our savings and credit was used to cover my sons legal expensives.
O2, agony and moving tires are my alternatives.
I've never been so pissed off, depressed and read to thrown in the towel.
Clark will updateyou all if I sholdnot be able to.
Cat - who is at the end of the rope with a knot unravelling.

Go see a lawyer, they can make a deal that they get a percentage. Or at least call one, give them the story, and see what they say, fee wise. Don't hire an injury lawyer, see if you can get one who specializes in medical law. DON'T GIVE UP!! Deep breaths... Deep breaths.

Cat, I was talking to Kirk. He said that Clark has a right to legal representation through the JAG, and seemd to think that right falls to some dependents. Please check into it.
You also have a right to discovery, legally, but you need a lawyer. If you can't get representation through Clark, call the state bar association for Legal Aid.
Also, if you call a good lawyer, they may do it pro bono (free). (Or any lawyer for that matter, just try to get a good one). I'd sue the shit out of them.

Too much to update rightnow, we've been to the chief of staff and medical records, we've dealth with my primary docs, and the pain docs....they all have the same records and all agree this is bogus.
What happens next is anyone's guess. They areinvestigating insurance fraud and hopefully this will just go away.
As I said, the handwrittent unsigned doc seems to have disappeared. Time will tell.
If and when I get my head to gether i will be on the war path.
I'll post if there is any new information.

It appears that the truth is being discovered-I'm happy for you. Only a low-life would make such an anonymous complaint...I hope that the authorities try to track this person down and if caught, I hope that he/she faces some serious charges. Hang on!

Thomas, as of yesterday at the various docs and hospitals, to include hte VA hospital, my family doc, the pain mgmt doc, the VA Inspector General and searching a lawyer, as well as the docs at the ER in question - they are all thinking it may well be medical identity theft. We are going to the base today to as them what to do, because military medicine is based on your social, it wouldn't be hard.
Problem is, time and money are required to fight this, neither of which I have.
I swear, if it weren't for bad luck I'd have no luck.
