WOW.   Don't know much about guitars either but if it is handmade in Italy, seems that says a lot.  I'm sure Brew will be able to give you a clue.

If Rex was still posting he could tell you, hes from France and plays everything from classical guitars to heavy metal.

Go to Youtube and do a search for him (Rex Tangle), thats where he can be found nowa days.

I've sent the pics of your new 12-string to our guitarist, who is a bit of a collector himself. I'll let you know what he says.

Sorry, I can't handle more than 6 strings at a time  Tongue

But seriously, if the body and neck are straight and not warped or swollen, if it'll stay in tune ... it may be worth something there  Wink

Here's what my guitarist/collector friend had to say:

tough to say from a picture, but eko's are always thought to be ok guitars-- not top of the line, but solid second-tier. used to be made in italy, and in the eccentricities of the guitar market, that probably limited their value. [american made instruments have been the most desirable since ww2]. my guess [and believe me, it's just that] is in the $150- $350 range, depending on condition and especially playability. 12 strings are notoriously tough on necks, and anybody appraising it would have to look at that closely. the extra tension offered by the additional six strings can easily warp even a great neck. guild was mostly known for their twelves (like the one balladeer gordon lightfoot used on songs like "edmund fitzgerald" ) the necks on those guitars could have been used as truck axles. as for eko, i don't know, and harmony central was of little help. if the instrument ever makes it to this side of the pond, i'd be happy to look at it and/or get one of my buyer friends to give it a look.

Neat!

I'm not well-versed in this area but I know of people that are collectors of geeters here that buy the things. The more obscure the better. You never know. Good luck on the "Antique Road Show."  Cool

I think the best thing to do is - if you like it, keep it and play it! That's what it was designed for.

Yeah, it could be worth a couple hundred depending on its condition.

Here is a 6 string on ebay. The fact that it's a 12 string doesn't really add to the value.

Cool guitar to have around though.
