Whew...I'm really not ignoring anyone..

Just been busy....trying to plan my Mom's 80th birthday party.
She will fly in here next Monday for a two week stay..then on Labor Day weekend my sister and her family from Philly will fly in and so will my youngest brother and his wife from Florida. Now here's the kicker....I'm trying to get my Uncle (Mom's only survining sibling)and his wife flown in from Arkansas. Mom hasn't seen him in like 15 years. This is all a big surprise...
Oh...also trying to get a custom piece of jewerly made for her...just started working with the jeweler today on that. He's just shaking his head but says he'll probably pull that off for me....bless his heart 
Soooooo...as it stands we will have all kids and grandkids here and Mom's brother too.....
I'm excited for Mom....ya think she'll cry....

Jackie - sounds like a ton of work, combined with some stress, but it will be so worth it at the end of the day to give your Mom something she will always remember.

Oh Jackie it sounds like you're planning a wonderful time - she'll love it - I'D love it! I love things like that, seeing peoples faces when they are so happy is just the best thing in the world so don't forget to take tons of pics please please please!

For my mother in laws 70th birthday we managed to get all 10 kids and all 36 grandchildren and all 16 greatgrandchildren to fly in or drive to her church. We took her to mass and the whole family was hiding in the church belcony. The mass started and the priest mentioned something about it being Mom's birthday. At that time the whole family had snuck in down around to where she was sitting. The suprise look on her face she about lost it right there. Apparently she didn't see the second youngest there and in the middle of the service she noticed him and just started crying. We had a big celebration after church and everyone stayed in town for a few days so she could have time to visit with everyone. It is something she still talks about to this 83 year old day.
You are definitly a special daughter Jackie. She will love this forever.

Lucky you! You and Mom and everyone surrounding you, have a specatacular time! It's memories of celebrations like this we wrap ourselves in when we need comfort. NOw, be sure to have lots of cameras...and a video camera rolling too!
