The big computer glitch! what a comedy of errors!

My sis, whom I adore, had my digital camera for a month, and took pictures which (I just found out TODAY) are for a contest at the state fair. She called me a couple days ago wanting to edit the pics on my puter and send to Walmart for prints. This needed to be done by tomorrow. We sent pics, only she wasn't happy with one of them. I resent it and went to pick it up for her after work. This is what transpired afterward: Walmart's online developing system went down and it won't be ready for 3 days. So Hannah was going to print it from her puter, only my son took her puter apart before he left for his latest trip. Her laptop is so loaded with viruses it won't work. We were going to connect her printer to my puter, only she couldn't find the software to load it. We tried to copy the pic to the memory card and print directly from her printer. She was out of blue ink and the pic came out all red I sent via email the pic to my sister so she could print it at her house but she had no photo paper. Hannah took her some She said if it didn't come out, could I resend to the Walmart in Fredericksburg to pick up tomorrow. ok, no prob. Only all the sudden my battery on my laptop says critically low and I need to switch to cord power. I have no clue how and the damn puter doesn't say anything like is there a button I need to click on or WHAT??. So I call my brother who gave me the puter to ask him what to do, only he is not home! So the puter goes *POOF* and has no power and what happens? Sis calls to ask if I can resend the pic to Walmart in Fred'burg! yaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrgggggggggggggggggggghhhhh! Somehow I got this bugger running again and am about to resend it for her, but I thought I 'd share the absolute hilarity of this damn situation!

I forgot to mention that while all this was going on and I was trying to send the pic, my satellite service went down. Since I posted this, I resent to the store of her preference, only they are experiencing high online volume. I hit order anyway. There was no confirmation #, only the whole thing rolled back to the very beginning of the order process! holy crap.

For future reference: We've never had a single problem sending internet orders to Walgreen's. Usually ready before we can get there. Every single time.

wow ... sounds like it turned into a big job. I've seen both Walmart & Walgreens' systems go down. If you need a good job done quick, use a local camera store or print shop. (They have back-up systems to get the job done!). Goodluck w/ it ! UNsolved BTW ... the local Office Depot could NOT print out a WORD document for me a few weeks ago. It was an 07' Word .docx file.

Jen, what a day! I hope that the pic turned up in some system eventually... and I'm glad that you can see the funny side of it all. Hugs, Sanna
