| Hey, I've got some Excel macro debugging that needs to be done if you're bored. Seriously, just turn the fuckers off. If enough people turned them off, they would die on the vine.

Hacks selling soap. Nothing new about it, really, but it's more ubiquitous and more shrill these days. You'll notice that when it's a slow news day and there isn't any video of mass death available, they'll dredge out some local news story with incendiary features--a missing child somewhere, or a murdered woman, usually attractive and young. On any other day, it wouldn't get the coverage it does. Got to keep the audience hopping mad so they'll watch the "news". 'Course, there are people who might consider that keeping the sheeple focused on trivia serves the agenda of the oligarchs who don't want us looking at the real crap they're shoving down our throats every day. Not that I'm a conspiracy theorist or anything. George

Ah! The foreigners put on such airs Wearing the tangerine suits And their harlequin eyes. The pain they inspire Draws in harmonica melodies And the feathers of birds Which flame up at their touch. It all comes to light in the sheer Debonair. (Ellen)

This morning Fox news was suppose to interview Colonel David Hunt, about military bases now wanting to honor the dead soldiers once a month instead of individually Guess what?, they bumped him so they could talk to Lindsey Lohans father. WTF is wrong with that picture?

Disgraceful, disrespectful....I can't even find the words... And the way I was treated at the airport (Phila. Int'l) when seeing my husband off...was nothing short of a crime...they took almost everything I had in my handbag...I asked them if they would just hold it there, I only had less than five minutes to say goodbye...their answer, "You can go take it to your car and come back"...my car was about a half a mile away...there's alot more to it....but I left with 3/4 of my belongings gone. Im sure the airport employees were thrilled to have and use my belongings....

Like Howard Beal said in "Network;" When huge corporations buy up media...who knows what kind of shit will be broadcast as news? Seriously, I'm tired of car chases, prison tours, "Airline," and news of Paris, Lindsay Lohan, and I don't consider kidnappings in California and 99% of the country's murder investigations: National news. It just ain't. Charlie

| Not sure! She says she's innocent, big news since she says colonel Hunt must have planted her the drugs on her.

I have a friend who would love to have Lindsey Lohan make it to the serious news, but unless she's visiting Finland, that ain't going to happen. Finland still has some sense left. But as a media student I have seen newspapers changing back here; they're "sexying up" the content and bringing more and more entertainment to attract the younger generations. And by doing that the older readers get upset and the new target audiences say: "I read that online last week!" And some university folkes are paid to research why newspapers are losing readership... I could tell you the answer right now: if you have the internet access, you can read what happends everywhere around the world, choose your sources quite freely and check out different sides of the story. Sure, some local news can be missed, but hey, most Finnish cities and towns have free local papers delivered to your doorstep and then there's always the local library. Sanna
