the smoky forest fire air!!! Undecided We have been submerged in it for days now. What I would give for clear skies and fresh air.  Sad

We lived thru 2 weeks of it in San Diego a few years back. Wait till the first time it rains and all that ash and soot runs down the side of your house!!!! Yucky!!!!

Scary times though, keeping you guys in our thoughts.

Yeah, we're getting a lot of that too.

Biggest one around is to the south and west of us, in remote Owyhee County--I understand it's around eighty square miles, and only 15 percent contained.  They expect it won't be contained until the first part of August.  Some houses threatened.  Bombers flying out of the NIFC (National Interagency Fire Center) day and night.

There are more fires up around Warm Lake to the north and east, and a good big one in the Frank Church Wilderness.  They won't fight or contain that one--just wait for it to burn itself out.

Doesn't help that the temperatures have been hovering around 100 F.

It's going to be a long fire season.

Ah! The foreigners put on such airs
Wearing the tangerine suits
And their harlequin eyes.
The pain they inspire
Draws in harmonica melodies
And the feathers of birds
Which flame up at their touch.
It all comes to light in the sheer
Debonair.

Hang in there george!!! Your state is far worse off than ours right now.

We are supposed to have thundershowers all day today and they have brought in the national guard to help out.  Not fun!
