Hey, techies... My home computer fried and I haven't gotten a new one yet. Actually, just the C drive fried, so we may be able to fix it. Anyway, my problem is in my work desktop computer. I cannot get online. First, the support guy at the cable company said it must be that my IE was corrupted. So, I downloaded Firefox to my laptop and a flash drive and installed it on the desktop. I still can't get online. This laptop is old and isn't the best choice for this, since I can't view video, etc... Any ideas?

Click Start, Run, then type cmd.exe. A fake DOS box should pop up. Then type ipconfig and type the output here. Paul

When you say "work" computer, could it be that you're behind a firewall? If so, you may need to enter the IP numbers for a primary and secondary proxy server. If this is the case, what's happening is that your work computer can probably navigate around all your work provided sites, but won't let you out beyond the wall your company has erected. (Heh, heh - he said "erected." ) Anyhow, you would only know what IP numbers to enter if your network administrator gives them to you.
